We are going to head up to Boston on Monday the 22nd. We are definitely going to see Old Ironsides, but would like a few more ideas for a day and a half stay. We'll be in the car and staying in a hotel in Boston that night (Woburn Hilton). Any and all ideas are welcome!

Sounds pretty cool. I'll have an 11 year old and an almost 3 year old with me. We'll be driving up from Groton Monday morning. We've been to the Mystic Aquarium and it's pretty awesome, not sure much can top it...

The whole faneuil hall marketplace is pretty cool.

Also the sports museum at the Boston Garden and they do tours of Fenway park although that might be seasonal.

For dinner hit the North end in Boston if you like Italian.

if you are interested in places to eat i have a ton of recommendations (all depends on what you are in the mood for)

and if you want to eat beef try Durgin Park

if you and the wife ever come up  without the kid (s) let me know.  I'll take you out and about.  Ask Ryan (Zltful) and Judd (Cyrus) .  I like to eat and drink!    Since I don't have kids I really don't know of any place they would like besides what has already been posted.


I will tell you this... right in Woburn center is a fantastic restaurant.  La Diva Stanza is a BYOWine place that has a kick ass menu.  I'm going there this Friday for dinner. 

Not sure how dead-set you are on your hotel reservations, but if you're already planning on hitting up Old Ironsides, I recommend looking into The Constitution Inn. CRAZY military discount and its right downtown.

Boston's a small city so you can see a lot on foot or use the T.  I recommend parking the car somewhere and leaving it there; driving can be really frustrating if you don't know the area.  From Woburn you could drive to Oak Grove (Orange Line) or Alewife (Red Line) and take the T into the city.  The Orange line is faster and more reliable but the red line has a fantastic view of the city as it crosses the longfellow bridge over the charles river.

You could get off at the Charles/MGH stop and then Charles Street is a nice walk up to the public garden.  Then you can walk through the garden (the 3-yo will like the duckling statue at the corner of charles and beacon if it's not covered with snow) and up Newbury Street and over to Copley square.

Or you could stay on the train to South Station to get to the Children's museum and the Tea Party museum.  From there it's a short walk up atlantic ave to the aquarium/imax.  You're also close to haymarket/faneuil hall and the north end.  The Institute for Contemporary Art is in a spectacular new building in southie which isn't far from the children's museum.  The no-name restaurant on fish pier used to be a great place for lunch, but I'm not sure if it's still there.

Also don't forget the Freedom Trail.

Duck tours are fun if they're still running this late in the year.

Yup, lots to do.  Bundle up and have a wicked good time!

If your looking for good "Chowda", you've got to go to the "No-Name", on the Boston Fish Pier in South Boston.  By far the best in town.  It's a little place, freshest food in town, corner of Seaport Blvd & D St.  The boat's unload right at their back door.  My suggestion is their Swordfish plate & a bowl of their Seafood Chowder, you'll get none better.

For pizza, go to Pizzeria Regina's on the corner of Thatcher & North Margin St, in the North End.  It's the original, with a real brick oven.  Bring cash, they don't accept credit.  It can be a wait to get in, but it's worth it.

+1 on the whole park & ride.  Unless you're from Boston or spend alot of time in the city like I do, you're better off parking & walking or taking the T.

That's for sure.  I work at a nightclub... the kind of place you'd imagine 50 cent would go if he were in town.  Not my scene either, but totally entertaining.

I extend an invitation to the community just in case anybody wants to roll up in an Escalade on 22's, chill in the VIP and pop bottles.  Chromed grill optional.
