HI Guys and Girls, Mad Mal  from Canberra, new to the forum, well I have been looking at the forum for a little while   .

I have just fitted the Termi pipe, ECU, filter kit to my 07 S4R and well the airbox is loud, does any one use the standard airbox lid to keep her quieter?
And how about baffles in the pipes in or out?

i think you will find the ecu is tuned for the open airbox and baffles out. that's how most run their kitted bikes. the baffles are handy if you get hassled about noise, other than that i wouldn't use them, but it's just me. if you put the std lid back on it will certainly run rich, however, to get the best from the kit just fitting the parts isn't enough, you need to get the tps reset and the co's checked and adjusted, if you dislike the intake noise put the std lid on before getting the adjustments done and it should run acceptably well, as long as you accept the ecu was designed to run best with the  open lid.

Ditto what Paul said....

I have the 07 S4R with Zards (no baffles), DP ECU & Open Airbox..... It is load coming from standard set up but you get used to it.....

Ear plugs work a treat...

Big, did you buy the ECU seperately when you bought the Zards?

Yep Spider I did the separate purchase. I actually spoke to a techo at NFI before purchasing anything and he recommended the DP ECU with open air-box for the Zard's (made by ex termi employees).

Had Fraser's install the ECU and "tune" the setup and must say that it runs like a dream. Had my 12,000km service done recently with a "re-tune" and she runs even better.........      [moto]  [moto]

Dos had his 10k service done (hope that's right!) and then got over 200km for a tank on his S4Rt....and then he lost his licence...so just watch out....re-mapping = demerit points!

T, how much was the chip by itself? SCARE ME!

Hey Spider As you know i have the Acrapovic system open box and ecu and i bought the corse/race ecu ,she aint cheap  at $1800 ish but worth every $, as you have seen on my track day vids the S4RS hold its own against the Ltr japers with this type of config 

Hey Mad Mal you will just need to harden the f*#K up if you want the best out of the monster 

mine had that terrible surging problem when i put the arrows on it. the reason turned out to be a timing issue after removing the cat. now back in 03 when i was having these woes there was very little available for the then brand new S4R, in desperation i got hold of a S4 ecu for the spaghetti header system and fitted that. no more surging, (due to the different timing because the S4 never ran a cat) and only minor alterations to the co's and it has run fantastic ever since.

p.s, i have a letter box slot in my lid and the arrows are loud! ear plugs are a must.

Yep, Bowl of concrete is required my friend... No point forking out the dough and not getting the benefit. Throw in some ear plugs and enjoy. It is very noisy and a little hard to take when you first get the system installed, but once you are used to it, all good.

I actually had it tuned with the baffles in place and there was very little difference in the tuning (I stood there in the workshop and saw it for myself), never a prob with idle or power. Fuel economy, well who cares!

Baffles out, lid off, plugs in! (IMO).

Yeah thanks guy's.  Got it booked in for the tune early in new year. True, I just need the old mug of harden the F up    and a supply of ear plugs .

Hey Big T I got the same colour bike as yours, those red brake and clutch levers look great, where did you get them from and how much $
