This is the most current shot i have of it. bike is dirty as hell, and the pipes starting to get a weird color change on the lower muffler ???

Thanks, any chance you could send a hi-res to hypurone at comcast dot net?  And did you notice if the right side felt/measured higher than the left?

looks to be a rainy weekend in california, so i'll probably spend some time cleaning up bike for once. i'll try to remember and take some shots, maybe measure heights too. doesnt feel off though... these are monster s*r rearsets version 2 which fixed a few problems from original design i believe.

DucSteve

Haven't bothered to measure it yet, but I really can't feel it being lopsided, so I think they are good to go [thumbsup]

Awesome man, thanks! Your pipes are diff than mine but I'll still ask, did these rearsets make your heel hit the guards more or less or the same?

I put that exhaust heatshield on when i had stock footpegs, i have the melted boots to prove it. My heel still will rub up against the heatshield, probably same as stock

OK, this is sort of worthless, I apologize for that, but my only experience with Sato rearsets is on my Jap Duc (Hayden Replica RC51). I'm covered up with Ducs but none have rearsets. I know Dan Kyle and have purchased all of my Ohlins and Sato crap through him. Great guy. I wanted RC51 rearsets that would come as close to the stock position as possible. Just wanted fixed pegs and Satos were the answer. I thought. I have Sato low mount (standard position) Ti cans and mid pipes. You'd think that Sato would know that their rear sets and pipes don't get along that well? I could not get the pegs and shifter mounted anywhere near the stock position due to the shifter hitting the mid pipe hard when pushing down into first in the lowest position. Since I didn't want to beat the s#@t out of my left side mid pipe I had to move the pegs up and back much more than I wanted. Ugh. :P So much for the good idea.

Still, a great product. Incredibly well made. Heck, really a work of art. Just disappointed that their "adjustable" footpegs don't work with their own pipes. At least on my Jap Duc. Major disappointment.

Again, sorry for the non Duc post but I do feel better that I got to complain! [laugh]

fastwin,

prob talking apples & oranges here but do you notice any irregularities in the pegs heights. positions between left to right?

Yeah, you're right, apples and oranges. My RC51 issue really has nothing to do with the thread, more apologies are due. [bang] To answer your question: no, no difference, certainly up and back from stock but they are the same on both sides. Just a minor threadjack to say how awesome the Satos are, they belong in a glass case on the mantle, just disappointed I couldn't use the adjustability to suit my needs. End of threadjack! ;D

I don't think it was a threadjack at all. You have sato's and it's a valid post to see if there are cross-platform similarities etc. Thanks for the info and checking on the height diff....

Hey man, I decided to get the new Sato's I found! I am going to need a heel guard like you have installed on yours as my heel now misses the one I have!  :( If ya don;t mind divulging a trade secret, what is yours made from? Did you use a standard exhaust clamp to mount it? You mind taking a pic of the back of it so I could fab one of my own?

Thanks,
Chuck

If you buy that carbon unit, please let us know how it mounts.  It looks good, but there are not enough details...
