Guys, was riding along the other day and started wondering if there were any other upgrades i could do to my S2R 1000 that would give it some extra kick....

Performance mods already on the bike:
Headers/exhaust(No baffles)
Modified air filter box.
K&N Air filter
DP ECU
Dyno tuned
PC3 management system

Don't say get a bigger monster, as i love this one and plan on never getting rid of it. Looking to buy a 848 or similar in next couple of years which will give me the stupid speed. Just looking for a bit more nasty in the monster.

Don't get me wrong, love my bike, just wondering....  [moto]

Nice list!

seriously - there isn't that much more is there?

some folks in WA were turbo charging them weren't they? It was in the magazine we all looked at 4 months ago about Italian bikes.

The hunt for more power is un-economical in my opinion. Buying the 848 is a quicker and cheaper option and you can tell your wife I said so in the ensuing argument too!

having said that...what the hell would I know....I'm still wet behind the ears!  ;D

I've got a few extras on my "wish list":

Smaller front or larger rear sprocket
High compression pistons
Lightened flywheel

But once you start going past what you have already done, the power gains start getting smaller for the amount of money you put in. :-\

White Lion

Yeah, the un-economical isn't a problem. Didn't buy the Duc to save money!

Sprocket is a good idea. Don't want to start playing with pistone and such- in my opinion that just leads to issues. Forgot about the sprocket.

Anyone with any comments on a 14tooth sprocket on an S2R 1000?

748s

With the 14t front you'll lose some off the top end (10-15kmph) for more grunt down low.
Got a 14t front on mine and like it. Easier ride in the city, and I don't miss the kmph off the top speed.

NCR are getting 130HP out of the 2 valve 1000/1100, but the cost puts it out of reach of most people.

Hugh I think you just need to slow down.

Two jobs, three bikes (I assume that's the plan) and a need for more speed/power.

Relax, take it easy and enjoy the ride  ;D [moto] ;D

if you can find some ST2 cams they work well, dialed in of course. i think V2 in WA make some good copies.

Hey Hugh I put a 14 tooth on the S4RT and love it.
~ City riding much more enjoyable..
~ A LOT punchier off the line..
~ Great in the twisties when you power out of a corner.. Fun even..
~ Don't know about km/hr off the top end as I haven't reached it yet.. So no loss there..
~ Cheapest mod around for the best value..

And if you don't like it, change it back..... [thumbsup]

.... This is your captain speaking. Please fasten your seat-belts as we prepare for take off.... (I'm the passenger now....)

hi big the only trouble with the s2r is when you hit 7 grand thats it it dosent make any more power unlike the s4r thats when you start getting all your power , but your right about city driving it does make life easier but for the  twisties  i like being able to stay in the same gear and and rock and roll baby  [laugh]

Hey Bazz very true re the 7Gs.......

But I must admit that with the DP ECU my power band starts at 5Gs and goes through to 8Gs.......  ;D

Standard ECU power band really only kicked in at 6.5 Gs ish........  :'(

At least that's how it felt. Dyno charts and feel can be two completely different things some times.....  [roll]
