Flip a switch and the plate flips up.

Found it here: http://www.duc.nu/pictures/10-04-04/

It's on a Duc.  Don't think there's enough space on the Monster for the same setup nor know if it's legal or if there's a real use for it, but thought it was pretty ingenious.

thats pretty obvious though, i think its illegal in all 50 states to cover your license plate with any type of film, even clear.

That is awesome! I always wanted to do something like this, just be ready with an excuse if you get busted like "No officer, that's not to hide my plate. It so I can take it off rode and not mess-up my plate."

Around here, if you get cought with a plate cabable of being hidden while underway, you'll be getting your bike out of impound.

Just spray your plate with coat after coat after coat of clear spraypaint.
Yes it will give off a slight yellow "tint" to the plate, but traffic cameras cant read it due to the glare of the sun/headlights, etc..

I have more than enough cop buddies who have confirmed this works..

i tried this and it didnt work with my own tests with a normal camera...

as for the pivoting plate... i dont think police would realize what it was unless they saw you move it up and down.

I think it would be cool for when you park it to hide the plate for asthetics.
