Well I am sure some of you have seen my first post. 

Well I recently purchased a 99 M900, nicely modified and loved riding the bike... well it is gone and I doubt the bike is going to show up and the insurance co is ready yo buy the bike from me. 

So a little about me... I have a little bit of riding experience with street and dirt bikes.  Not been on a bike in 4 years and have been wanting to get back in to riding. My parents never let me own a motorcycle when I was younger and now that I can, I bought my first bike, the M900... now it is the first that I have owned, but I have plenty of time on a motorcycle.  I would not call myself a novice and I am defiantly not an expert but I know my limits and have good riding skills.  The M900 was an excellent bike and loved every second on it. 

Well  I am looking at a few bikes, I want to get a new one for my own reasons... and I am wondering which bike to get....

08 S2R 1000, 696, 1100... all 3 have something that interests me... I have no plans on tracking this bike and it will be a good mix of city riding and rinding in the mountains.  I was comfortable with the M900's power, dynoed at 77 hp at the wheel. So I am not too worried about the power of the liter bikes.  The weight of the 696 has me interested. I love light motorcycles.  I am thinking that my girl can take the 696 in a few years when she gets confident and board on her starter bike and I can't modify it anymore (Buell Blast).  At the same time I am worried I will be disappointed with the 696... I have a ton of ideas in my head, and I am going in circles... and I could type forever

So I would love to have some opinions... Just want a good bike that I will be happy with... not a power junky

The D-Bags that steal motorcycles should be...uh...I can't think of a punishment bad enough for those bastards!  I know the gut retching feeling of going out to the car port and seeing my bike gone.  I think I just threw up a little again.

Good Luck with your bike search. I've got a 696 and am very happy with it. The power difference between it and the S2R isn't that much, but the S2R is pretty damn good looking. A couple months ago, Spidey did a really nice write up on a few days in Spain with an M1100. I'd suggest you check it out. Have you taken any demo rides?
