Yes, the Duc is up and running again (for now.)  It's amazing what a new battery and a slave cylinder will do for a bike.   :P

I just hit 54,000 miles this morning.  You'd said earlier that keeping mine going gave you hope for yours.  I think yours has a much easier life.  Mine is like 142 in dog years.   [laugh]

My Bike is only like 70 in Dog Years. Its 5 miles shy of 25k

I almost had enough nerve to ride it a few more miles tonight when I hit my driveway but I was way to wet and tired to keep on going.

Does this mean less attention given to the Vespa? :D

Good news indeed. You're now officially ahead of me on the mileage, as the Vespa does the bulk of day-to-day commuting chores (coming up on my 12K on the scooter - hope it's cheaper than a Duc 12K!!)

I was thinking that I might just plop a new motor into this bike when it dies instead of buying a new one.  I really like the set up on my Monster and think it might be cheaper.  Does anyone know what kind of motors are compatible with my frame?  Might have to look into this further.

If my bike comes back sans motor, I'll know what happened to it.

Also, should be easy to find another 900 mill for it. Hell-go buy one soon, get it rebuilt, and just wait for this one to die.

I've been doing that with a coupla old cars for years  :D
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

IIRC the fuel injected motors have a different tank size, which means you'd have a bit of extra work putting one of those in. (The tank has the fuel pump in it.)

AFAIK, all of the carbie motors would bolt right in.
Not sure of the crossover year of single-phase to 3-phase charging, that may restrict it a bit.
Duck-Stew would know....

Don't get a 900 with the W heads, they're slugs (my '99 Cagiva Gran Canyon has one).

I think all the 900 carb motors are the same no matter what bike they were in (as far as fitting in the frame goes). Also another thing to consider is as you deal with the motor issues you are in effect slowly rebuilding it.
