If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

So how does the flavor of Boubon compare to Scotch?  ??? In general...I'm sure it depends a lot on the Scotch/Bourbon being compared.

I'm not a fan of Scotch (at all)...but I was thinking of trying Bourbon.

rgramjet

I find most Bourbons to be much sweeter than most Scotchs.  Kind of a blanket statement I know.  I find Scotch to be more "tunable" and complex depending on region and added water.

I never thought about the role of water in bourbon, but NYC tap water is damn refreshing. I never liked bourbon and water anywhere else. the tap there has too many minerals. and it ruins the taste.

im not a scotch guy so i cant tell you how to compare it. Scotch to me is too much for me. But you should defintely try a good bourbon to form your own opinion, if you dont like it, you can send the rest of the bottle my way. :-)

Drunken Monkey

I like both Bourbon and Scotch and I finally found the perfect compromise

Clear Creek McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt Whiskey

Damn tasty and relative cheap for something that tastes close to a Islay single malt.
I own several motorcycles. I have owned lots of motorcycles. And have bolted and/or modified lots of crap to said motorcycles...

I drink just about everything that can be called "whisky", but Bourbons are my favorite, and their cousin the Tennessee Whisky.

George Dickel 12 is the best for most drinking, although their Barrel Select is gold.  If you were blindfolded, you'd think the former was a very smooth bourbon and the latter was ambrosia.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

herm

bourbon...........yum.
but too easy to drink. i get in trouble.

scotch.........a little too harsh for my taste.

whiskey.......just right. i am partial to the Irish whiskey, no canadian stuff.
poured 2 fingers of bushmills, neat, not so long ago...
