Name: Eric
Location: Livonia, MI
Bike(s) (if any): 2002 Ducati Monster 620ie
How long you've been riding: Been riding dirt and ATV since around 1990 (8 yrs old). Last year was my first street ride.
Anything else you'd like to share: I caught a lot of flak for even considering a Ducati for my first street bike. I had my heart set on something European, V-Twin, and fuel injected. That pretty much narrowed my choices, and when I found my Duc on Craigslist, I knew I was doing the right thing in purchasing it.

I'm a member of the local Ducati riding club, known as Ducs Unlimited. I'm also the membership secretary for Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association, so I'm familiar with how clubs and their subsequent forums work.

I'm mainly just looking for some similar-minded folks to talk and ride with. Hopefully I'll get to share some road time with you guys in the near future.

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

If you're trying to "cure" your addiction, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place.

If, however, you're looking to FEED your addiction, then welcome, my boy, welcome!

Lots of good info and great people on this board.

And I'm afraid Grandpa Nate is right. Nothing exists without pictures.  [beer]

Oh, and because the process for posting them is kinda tricky to start with, we made a how-to for pictures.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Welcome Eric, I think you will find a lot of people here share your addiction. ;) [moto]

Congrats on your 620, I bet you are having lots of fun with it. [thumbsup]

Those are somewhat older pics, they're actually the "For sale" pics from when I bought the bike in May of last year. Since then, I've removed the 'number plates' on the rear cowl, changed the clip-ons back to a normal bar setup, and changed the tires to Michelin Pilot Power Pros.

Niiiiiice bike.  [thumbsup]

I loved the sound of the Arrows on my 620. Nothing says "Move. Now." like a set of really loud pipes engine braking.

Also, if it was useful, you have somegirl to thank for the picture FAQ. (Credit where it is due, and all.)

Nice Hella-equipped Subi, too.  [beer]

Gracias... I love the Arrows. Really nice sound. My friend likes to say that it reminds him of an old Ferarri, especially when I'm running down through the gears coming up to a stoplight. However, when it comes time to upgrade the bike to the Monster 1100, I'll probably go with the Termi kit. I just really like the idea that they're supported by Ducati, comes with the ECU, and an air filter too.

I'll thank Somegirl (thanks!) but I didn't really need the how-to for pics. I've worked my way around a forum or two, so I'm pretty familiar with how to work all the "goodies". But I do like some of your smileys here! The bacon is especially great.

Unfortunately, the Scooby isn't mine. It belongs to the guy I bought my bike from. I drooled pretty hard on it when I went to pick my bike up from him. Here's my daily driver though, for reference:

It's getting up there in age, but it's still doing fine. Various lights, rattles, bangs, dents, and scratches, but it still runs and only occasionally stuff falls off now.  [laugh]

Thanks for the welcome. Looking forward to some wicked Monster convos with you guys!

Last year, we did. If it doesn't start melting soon, I think we will this year too! I think we've got around 2ft deep in my backyard at the moment.

I still have the clip-ons, sitting in my "extra parts" pile. They're Cyclecats, so I was thinking of trying to sell them to pay for something useful. I thought about throwing them on for the early spring rides, but figured that I didn't really care for them the first couple times and probably still won't.
