Where do you get your PC/AV cables?

I like newegg but I'm kinda annoyed that I'm looking at $9 of cables (1 - 10ft dvi-vga cable and 1 - 3.5mm stereo jack Y) and a bit more than $12 in shipping. I could toss in an $8 6ft HDMI cable and increase shipping to $14 and change to make myself feel a bit better about it since at least then I'd be spending more on the cables than the shipping but I don't really need the extra HDMI cable.  [roll]

Anybody know a cable source where I won't have to buy enough cables to hang myself with and not dump all my money into shipping? Or this a normal thing and I should just put up with it? I've never bought cables online before. My dad's always had all the cables I've needed or I went to Radio Shack to get them.  [roll]

+1 for Monoprice. For (2) 6 ft HDMI cables, and (1) 6ft Component cable, shipping from Cali to Indiana was $6 for 2-3 day.

Make a friend who works for Best Buy.
Their employee discount is cost + 10%.

I've gotten cables that were $100 in the store for $7...

Huh... Whaddaya know? I had an account there already? Looks like I bought something from there...3 or 4 years ago? Too bad they don't have the exact cables I want but with a combination of adapters and cables I can make what I want. Still a lot cheaper than newegg.

Any of you guys notice differences between gold plated and non? I've noticed a buzz on  this one non-gold plated 3.5mm stereo cable that I have and a non-gold plated S-video cable I have that came with my video card is flakey and has to be just right or it only sends black/white signal.  [roll] Other than that I haven't noticed anything.

I have had good luck with Parts Express.  Pricing and service have been great.  Might be worth a visit for you.

Aw crud. I coulda saved myself $5 and picked up my order from their place. I didn't know it was in Rancho... That's right by my parent's house....  [bang]

In my opinion, gold plated is a gimmick.  Look at a $10,000 tecktronix oscilloscope - no gold platting on the connectors or cable...

I have been looking for good cable sources too, so these are bookmarked [thumbsup]

Your profile says you're in SoCal.  Isn't there a Fry's within driving distance?

Yeah, my apt is less than 2 miles from 1 but they're not always the cheapest or the best quality.  :P
