Me and my brother used to hit cap gun tapes with a hammer (we were young) but this is in the next league.  What a laugh.

And just the match heads in betwen 2 bolts, threaded into 1 nut and chucked !! But this one WAS dangerous as the bolts flew apart !!

Balloons full of acetylene with a turps soaked rag for a wick. Night time is the best . Let them float away and then detonate a couple of hundred feet up. Lots of flame and a good bang. EXCELLENT,

As a Big Kid:
~Spent 2 years as a Powder Monkey blowing shit up with Detonator cord, Nitro Prill and played with a bit of Plastic..... Now that was fun.......
~ Detonator cord round a 60L drum half full of petrol...... Now thats a fire ball......

I remember when I was a kid and used bug spray/WD40 cans as flame throwers, I got some propellant on my hand & it caught fire. Picture me running around yard with flaming hand. Didn't realise I could jump into pool to put it out.

Penny bunger was a big firecracker, I was only three when oz went to decimal currency but any big cracker was still called a "penny bunger".
As a medium kid, a handful of ramset cartridges in the campfire woke a few people up.
Well as a big kid I spose I can add the odd thunderflash in the portaloo, that always gets a laugh, (as long as you weren't the one sitting on the honey bucket at the time!)
