While I can't speak for Laguna, Indy was really neat except for the rain of course and lack of good roads. It had almost everything else though, racing, art, history.

I do agree it would be neat to have an annual pilgrimage site. But don't they have that with Daytona? Isn't that the sportbike sturgis?

The hard part about doing a one brand type of thing is just that, limiting it to one brand. Maybe there could be a big Euro-Bike event. that way it'd be open to not just ducatisti, but guzisti, mvisti, aprilisti, etc-isti. Plus, there'd be more manufacturers who may want to get involved.

I like the idea of at least a long weekend (if not a week). I also like the idea of the classes, demo rides, etc. so a nearby track would be great.
This brings me back to INDY. I don't know if anyone else was there, but DOC put on a Duc only trackday at Putnam (cook dropped a D16 in turn?) and that was only about 45 mins from Indy.

Just my unsolicited input, wait, you did ask...

Good point; euro multi-brand would have broader appeal.  I don't know much about Daytona Bike Week; always thought it was Harleys again instead of sportbikes.

At any rate - organization for a dozen bikes is one thing... Organizing anything bigger becomes an object lesson in logistics.  Maybe several area dealers could become involved on the front end to help with some of that.

Damn, we need an economic turn-around soon  [bang]

Sitting to the side on this topic has been great to see the multiple perspective views. I like Steve's idea of a multiple Euro-bike event. If that scenario would materialize it would bring a lot more people into the marketplace for euro-bikes. I'm sorry all the jap-bike riders in here but there is a reason why AMS has only Euro-bike weekends. I now that those of you guys who were 'raised' on jap bikes think the world of them. Those of us who were 'raised' on euro bikes have a deep passion not unlike the HD pack. That said I'd have to limit the event to euro only. I don't want to get into a superiority related thing with different makes but from observing what is taking place on the street riders scene (we people who buy street bikes) the Jap contingency is made up of mostly guys who like to do stunts and drag race. Not that there is anything wrong with that.  [roll] [roll] [roll]  It's just that I'd like to see a euro event as I said previously.

Heck we could get one started by just posting up on all the local boards and putting out flyers at the local shops and dealers. If anyone would be willing to put in some time to organize an event for this summer shout out.

Interesting stereotype.

How did I know that would strike a nerve with some???..hmmm...

Just foolin with ya B. It's not that I have anything against jap bikes. I really don't. It is after all what I cut my teeth on out in the pasture at 13. Trouble there was that the pasture was full of bull nettles!

Interesting stereotype.

This is more of what I'm not inclined to say is promoting good riding habits. There's a reason I'm an older rider.

Not that this has anything to do with this thread but my favorite part of the vid is the line "The key is to not be scared. But not be stupid. Don't kill yourself young grasshopper." What a moron. I'm sure his mother is proud. :P End of threadjack.

He states many times that the key is to be fearless... well with a certain bit of fear comes respect. he obviously doesn't have it.

I have only a Jap bike so I guess that obviously automatically puts me in the stereotype of being a stunter squid.... i mean why else would i buy a liter bike...

But seeing as how the 10R is incapable of anything other than being abused, how bout I borrow your Duc for my next track day so I'll have a bike under me thats worthy of smooth asphalt and corners

He he he.... [laugh] [laugh] I'm still ROFL! You mean we have digressed to this point where we have to be PC to a fault on this board! HA!

Ok, that was all in fun, you know where I'm coming from Fastone huh!? God love ya man.

I also think that Slir B' Lurp is rubbing off on Deals Gap, he's changing his secret name too. Ah, identity crisis on the interwebbingnetdome.

All in good (clean) fun amigos all in good fun. [thumbsup]
