Has anyone seen the new Mazda 3?

It looks like it was designed by the Joker and I don't mean the the Heath Ledger Joker.  More like a harmless cartoon Joker.

Before this design, I liked the Mazda 3.  Good on gas, decent size and it looked good.

Not a fan of the looks, but it got a good review in Automobile, which is my favorite car mag.

I like the Mazda 2 and I would certainly choose that after seeing BP's new IZcar!   

Uncanny how it looks like the Joker

It looks like the Civic that ate the canary.

You know of all the Japanese makes, I always hold out hope that Mazda will come out with something beautiful and distinctly Japanese.  I hope they will make another RX-7 Mk III, only better.  Excepting the the new Lexus ISes (which are still unapologetically Euro-influenced), that is as good as Japan gets in my book.  Not this time, I guess.

I think the guy that designed the front end needs to get off the shrooms or whatever it is.  It looks like a cartoon car.

Asked the wife for her first thought when I showed her the pic "It's smiling at me!" Then I asked her if she would buy it, "Nope".  Went to the Mazda USA site and showed her the current one "Much better"...


Pretty much sums it up from a girl's POV...

I'm hoping the 2011 Speed3 will look better.  It is will not be produced for the 2010 model year.
