HERES A NEW LIST OF WHAT I'M DOING NEXT:

asv - clutch and brake levers
ducati parts - carbon fiber timing belt cover
ducati parts - carbon fiber front sprocket cover
ducati parts - carbon fiber seat cowl (pearl white with the stripe down it - you can see it at commonwealth)
ducati parts - low seat (i read it doesn't really lower the bike but maybe 10mm, but i really like the look of it)
handlebars - waiting for someone to make a specific cafe racer style handlebar for a 696 (anyone have any suggestions?)
powdercoat the handlebar risers

MIGHT DO:
powdercoat the rearsets black

- And everyone keeps saying we're in a recession

everytime i see this mod (the rearset) i realize how NOTblack the swingarm is. how hard is it to take the swingarm off? i supposed i would need an engine stand or some kind of hanging hook to hold the bike and take it off. plus would i need a spring compressor to take the shock/spring off? and a torque wrench when i put it all back together.... dang dang dang... what to do what to do.

edit: by the way, the bike looks incredible... how come you still have the charcoal canister?

mrplease

i think if the swing arm matched the rearsets it would be no contrast back there. i don't think that would look good at all like that...

if you look at the bike, there are a lot of different shades of blacks on it. if it was all the same black, nothing would stand out at all. i think it all looks good the way it is...

stopintime

I agree with you on the different shades thing [thumbsup]

Q: did you have trouble refitting the foot pegs after PC'ing the rearsets?
Q: did you experience any damage, heated rubber, to the elastic bushing in the rearsets, after PC'ing?

Advice: the powder coating in the handlebar clamps might wear off/peel off. Either sand it off or at least tighten OFTEN. Loose bars = bad.

This looks really good! Might do that myself!

Holden

conversely, I wonder how the aluminum swingarm would look without any paint at all.

or if the footpeg carrier (they aren't rearsets) got a sanded, paintless treatment...

monstermania

Looks sweet, good job. Did everything go smooth with the removal and install of the sets?

hcomp

Looks badass! I really like the look of the HB riser.,
