Anyone got any experience building an outdoor Pizza Oven.
Just wondering if it'll be a fun project for the backyard.
All I need is the space (Nick)

your obviously drunk...my only advice is for you to tell all your friends how much you love them and then sleep it off!

Drunk? no spider, that's what happens when you have a pizza oven and all our friends come over, drink beer, eat pizza and swim in your pool!

That'll be the outcome of it so watch out Matty. [drink] [drink]

BTW, you can do a search on google and purchase plans. Some of them are kits where you get doors etc. They are  a bit $$ but IMO you don't really need this.

Been doing a bit of research on this, what I want to do is make mine portable so that if and when I move house it can come with us
Have found this site useful.

Is it worth the hassle?

I mean, you will use it a handful of times, then it will turn into somewhere to put your pot plants.

<NOTE> I mean pot plants, not "POT" plants.  ;D

And if you did have "POT" plants, the pizza would not be in there long enough for it to cook, or the toppings would be eaten before getting onto the base.  :D

Brimo, I've seen portable ones in the big BBQ shops. There stainless steel and look like they'll last forever! I don't think that you could construct one from bricks that you could move very easily at all.

brimo, did you download the plans from this site?

Spider

ah, I then have another question.....since these are serious plans....

Why?

I make pizza once a week....friends come from all over town cause they get the urge for it....and there aren't many places in Melbourne that make a better pizza than me (been told by many)....

and I use an oven.

making great pizza has got a lot to do with the regularity of which you use your dough making skills, the freshness and quality (and sparseness) of ingredients and the amount of care that you put into the dough....I don't contribute very much of the Pizza's greatness to the heatsource.

If you have good dough, this will make the best pizzas you've ever had. [thumbsup]

Not in Australia, but check out http://www.earthstoneovens.com/ for inspiration.

It's not just for cooking pizza, you haven't lived unless you've had roast meats and veges out of a wood fired oven. [bacon] [bacon] [bacon]
and the portable stainless ones are'nt big enough to put a whole porker in.I

On the portability idea, I am thinking forklift or hiab (spelling?) on to a tray truck kind of portability. So maybe a heavy steel base with some lifting eyes.

And if you need some cooking tips I can probably show you a thing or two "pizza boy"  ;)
