Alpinestars: Apex v. Track pants?

Looking to upgrade from BMW city pants to leather pants this year for my first track day, but also for the the street. I am set on Alpinestars because Dainese won't zip into my Alpinestars jacket, and I am definitely set on getting Alpinestars or Dainese-level quality. I am not looking to do too many track days, just a couple a year to improve skills. From the manufacturer's description, it looks like the main difference between the Apex and the Track pants is that one is designed primarily for the street and the other primarily for the track, and the $50 difference is mainly that the track pants are higher in the back (both are made of the same leather, both have GP knee sliders, etc.). Let me know if you have any informed thoughts on whether the Apex or Track pants would be a better fit for me, for just 2-3 track days a season but mostly for the street. The $50 difference is not enough for me to make the call based on money (and I wouldn't ever skimp on gear anyway), I am mainly looking for which pair would be the best fit for my intended use.

I have been looking at these as well with the same question. What i gathered after reading on these is the APEX pants have more accordian stretchy parts than the track pants for street riding comfort. my 2 cents and im out!

That was my take, too.  That and the Track pants description highlights that its higher in the back, which is nice, but I plan to zip either pair into my coat, so the height of the pants in the back probably doesn't mean all that much.

I would go to parts411.com and buy a whole Alpinestars SG suit for $400 and get your pants AND have a new jacket to wear too.

Thanks, not looking for a suit, just pants.

I just got the Track Pants and really like the look of them.  More of a jean cut than racer style which suits me just fine.   Now I need to lose a couple so they fit right.   :-\
