Who's going to actually participate this year?

Rameses

I'm in tentatively.  I'll know for sure when the date gets closer, but for now I'd say pretty likely I'll be in.

I nominate Shultz on the Bandito with a really small rear sprocket.   [thumbsup]

Actually, now that I think about it, I can't go. That's the weekend the CWA contract is up and I may have to work.  >:(

You thinking you'll ride the Bandit there or will it get race prep'ed and trailered?  Sounds like good fun either way.

I'll ride it there.

I have to see how much this all costs.  I seem to remember around $250 by the time you buy a membership, etc.  That's pretty expensive for a few passes on their strip.

But you could have "World's Fastest Bandit" bragging rights. Think of the T-shirt opportunities.  ;D

Maybe you could sell shares?  Share the ride - Share the fun - Share the costs.  Not me though - I don't have the right gear.  Check the fees here: http://www.ecta-lsr.com/?page_id=19     $50 to become a member, $10 for a rule book, $10 for a number and log book, $100 to register for the race ($120 at the track), max's out at $190.  4 riders, ,$50 each, at least 1 run each.  E-Ticket ride, too!!

I was thinking Saturday and leaving Raleigh early, like 8:00 or 7:30 or before.  Given the time it takes to get there and Sat seems to be a better racing day (according to what I'm reading, anyway) and the traffic is lighter (not that traffic gets in my way much!).  Weather permitting, of course.

In order to participate for the first time, you have to take the rookie school and learn how to properly go in a straight line, I guess.   :-\

But they only offer the class a couple times:  5:00 PM on Friday and 11:30 AM on Saturday.

Opps!  Missed that part.  Then again, maybe we just need to go both days!  ;D
Makes sense to me though.  Every racing association is very concerned with safety.  The rules are there for that reason.  The things I've read over the years about the ECTA indicates these people are serious about their racing but they still have a lot of fun.  I'm all for being an observer.

So, I'm guessing no one rides the Bandit but the owner, eh?  [bow_down]

No problem Neil!   :)

Others riding the Bandit is one thing, but others riding the Bandit at over 100mph is quite another!!   [laugh]

Back to the original thread then - Who's up for an early departure time on Saturday 04/04?

I sure hope the weather is on our side.  It's been a long winter and the GT didn't get riden enough.  I need a ride to look forward to and this fits the bill for me.
