SAGE (as you call me)

he uses the term 'painting' even though he knows it's frickin wrong....

ah.....count to ten.......

the modification is good looking....but not really a performance one (that you can feel anyway). I'll do it on the new bike (when I get one)

- I'm going to have a go at taking the pipes off mine soon (but I've been saying that for months) can't be that hard can it?
Can be a bittricky to get the second half of the pipes out of the swing arm if you still have the shock installed. Putting it back together was tougher than taking it apart. Ducati makes everything hard to work on and get spanners on to nuts!

Yes, I've found Spiders "Kryponite", and I'm using it against him.

But it can be done by mechanically inept guys with a decent socket set and a couple of beers, yes?

Make sure that you get the pipe out of the swing arm before you've had too many beers! [drink] [drink] [drink] [drink]
I'd hate to think that you may loose your Patience and attack it with a hammer!

It's best to support the rear end without using a rear stand as you'll need to be able to move the shock around a bit to get it out. My bike had teh old style double sided swing arm and it was tricky. If you've got teh new one or a single sided one it'll be a lot easier.

I got a cheap set of spanners and cut them down so that I could get them onto the clamps to re-tighten everything up again. You don't need a lot of tension on the nuts as the exhaust runs really hot. I thought I was going to have a hell of a time to get the nuts undone as they were all rusty but they were not much more than finger tight. I'd been putting it off thinking that it was going to be too difficult to undo them!

I polished my headers using a bench grinder with a wire brush to remove all of the rust etc. The ceramic paint I got from SuperCheap Auto.

Have fun  [thumbsup]

I was being serious (rare, I know)....I dig the old stickers...and it was a cool place where we all met...just cause it ended badly doesn't mean it was all bad....I'm putting the old sticker on the airbox of the new bike eventually!

Great to see some lovely rides appearing here. Hope to see some out on the road. (When I'm allowed back on - Oh, and we have to have another Melbourne brekky)

mattyvas

Just to let you know, I've trolled through this thread and a few other places to put together a Flickr
set on the new Ozmonster portal so we can see them all in one place.
I have tried to put states where people are from, if I have made any mistakes just let me know.
And if there are any bikes missed post them up here and I'll add them in.

cheers
Matty...

When are you allowed back on Dos?

Yes to the brekky depending on the venue!  [laugh]  ie Probably a Spider venue ranter than a Dos venue --- SORRY   :P

Matty

Good work on the Flickr.  Don't think I've ever posted a pic of my bike so could you please do the honours. Had to search for one where the bike is not covered in bugs, mud or dust! Ta.
