Bernard is getting ready to offer the SUPANOVA to the public once again! First he's filling orders from people who he refunded a while back (like me), and then he'll be taking orders from everyone else in the next few weeks.  I am so stoked!!  For those of you who don't know what this is, check out pics and vid here:

http://www.vizi-tec.com/SUPANOVA/SupaNova_Pictures.htm

The startup sequence RULES!!!  I will post up pics and vid as soon as I receive it and get it installed.

OK, how much? It says on their website they have to wait until they clear the backlog (45-60 days)...

I think that page has been up there for the last nine months or so since he moved out west.  Prices did bump up a bit due to increased production costs, so that kind of sucks but is understandable.  Top of the line with brake flasher and license plate light is a little over 300 shipped.  Base model is about 250 shipped.  What he told me is that he will be posting up for regular sale in the next two weeks or so.

Unimpressed with the turn signals. Given that he's got it setup to do that swoosh for the awesome startup sequence, it woudl be better if the turn signal were half the with of the light as a repeted swoosh in the given direction in orange when selected as oppsed to blinking leaving the other half red like the clear alternatives LED.

Its all a matter of preference I guess. I don't like the CA lights because the separation of the signals for me isn't adequate.  I've seen lights that do a swoosh and it almost seems distracting rather than letting someone know that you are definitively planning on making a turn.  Not sure about the legality of something other than a standard blinking blinker in every state.  If a cop wanted to be a hardass he could probably make a case against anything other than a commonly recognized flashing turn signal.

I've just printed the dimension sheet to see if this will work on the 696.

I would buy one only if it plays that music. ;D

I have the SUPANOVA (first one Bernard made in some time) and it is 100% worth it.  The video doesnt do it justice, and I have had people who were behind me on the street come up next to me at the light saying how visible the light is, especially the flasher.

I'm sorry but anyone who pays that much for a brake light has rocks in his head.  ???
I've been wallowing in my own chaotic and insecure delusions.

I will happily accept rocks in my head when the brake flashing algorithm saves my ass from someone who might otherwise have missed the first two seconds of my brake light because they were changing songs on their IPod while driving right up my ass.

The rest of the unit is just all bonus coolness baby...   8)

I'm sure that Bernard would love to have a much lower price (for people without rocks in their heads).  But until someone shows up with a minimum order of 2500+ units (paid in advance) to allocate manufacturing in the Far East (and bulk rate part costs) -- he is going to have to make them on his workbench in very small batches and assemble, Q/A test and program each one individually. (note: Take a close look at one and notice the 550+ small components there -- it isn't a trivial task to assemble nor test each component beforehand) The way I look at it, this is a premium light offering available for those who desire and want it. Some might consider it as "safety gear" for the attention it gets and consider it an investment in that alone worthwhile.  Everyone that I know that has one installed would never remove it after the comments they get from motorcyclists and non-motorcyclists alike.

Only folks I wouldn't recommend this light to are the folks who don't want to be seen while riding or who try to evade the police. (This taillight would give you up especially at night even at long distance!)

I'm just glad to see a quality product that is needed within the community and is produced by an enthusiast who has a love for Ducati's.

That thing is awesome! At least here in AZ it is legal to have an integrated tail light. As far as price, I think that $250 for a hand made light is not bad at all.  That is a lot of parts to assemble.

Actually Bernard told me it is 700+ individual parts by hand...  [bow_down] [bow_down]
