Piper does Race Tech upgrades, certified and such. I just had the RR forks freshened up, no kit.

AMS can put Öhlins kits in for sure.

one of the guys from the place i bought them from claims to have 8000 miles on his. they have been fine until on my way home from tyler today. about half way the rear end really started moving around in the corners. after the tyler trip it makes a little over 6800. ordering my new rear sometime this week. i put them on when i had 7700 and i know have 14500 and some change. just remember like i said i do alot of commuting and i don't think they have the same cornering grip as the bridgestones i had on before. i have a friend with the bridgestone's and i don't think he is gonna get more than 5500. next time i buy both i am gonna try the conti's just so i can have several different opinions from experience on all the brands but a few. i had them on when we were down on the h.c trip and george,  bryant, scott all rode behind me at some point they could tell you also they their isn't alot of moving around in the corners with them. overall for a high mileage sport touring tire they come highly recommended from me. excellent for their intended purpose but i wouldn't use them if i rode as well and as hard as will, tommy, ron, scott or some others. hope this helps.

tommy that first 7700 was two fronts and three rears.  at about 1700 i got a nail in both the front and the rear and had to replace them both. then after the replacement of both i put a rear on at around 5k and after 7700 i got sick of putting tires on every 3k especially when most of mine is commuting so i switched from performance driven tires to more sport touring.

Another option may be the Bridgestone BT-016.  That's what's going on my Duc when I get through the Michelin 2CT that are currently on there right now.  Very reasonably priced and sticks well (sticks well enough to be paired with a BT-003 DOT race tire on my SV since they don't make the 003 in the 160 rear size).

does AMS put user-supplied tires on still?  they did the last time i went to them for mounting, but that's been over a year ago.  though i'm still pretty unlikely to go that route... $50/tire for mounting and balancing is pretty steep, when cyclegear is 20-30 a tire

I don't know about AMS but I definitely trust the guys at Cycle Gear in Plano. They've done at least 2 tire changes for me in the last couple of months...

yeah...they've always been a good group of folks.  though i will say when i took mine in for a pair of pirelli rossos, they accidentally put a strada on one wheel...and i was headed out to the track a few days later.  i caught the mistake luckily before driving off.  that would not have been a good time.

just wouldn't exactly be oozing with grip on the track i think....  though i think the next tire will be a sport/tour on the monster...like a road2ct or something strada-ish

Well, checking on the availability and price it seems that MotoOutlet is cheapest with a price of around $250 shipping included for a set of BT-002RS' That tire is suppose to be their best for street/track. Afterall Ducati is running Bridgestones this year.

I wanna get may hands on a set of 002RS's... running 2ct's now... got about 1k on the front and maybe 500 on the back right now...

The qualifiers stick ok but you won't get shit for mileage.. thats what the zx came with and I needed a new rear at less than 2k (no burnouts or stunting, just normal riding for me)

I ran the Rossos and liked them.. same with the Supercorsas... but the mileage wasn't there...

I waited til Cycle Gear had their last big sale and got my 190/55 2ct... 25% off and then an add'l $20 off with coupon made it affordable.

A guy on anothe rboard gave a me a link to these guys...  http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/index.php

they seem to have pretty good prices, but I've not dealt with them so i can't comment on customer service or shipping

Afterall Ducati is running Bridgestones this year.

It is also the spec tire in motogp.

Spec tire for WSBK is Pirelli.  There are Ducs in WSBK.
