How can one...

have a conversation with one...

that is always right?

That's great.  Those tanks are scary when they crack open and leak gas.  Nothing like the fear of a flaming/exploding bike to keep you from getting aggressive in the turns.
Occasionally AFM #702  My stuff:  The M1000SS, a mashed r6, Vino 125, the Blonde, some rugrats, yuppie cage, child molester van, bourbon.

It blows my mind that Yamaha haven't fixed that yet.

gm2

i bet the 2010 R6 will have many changes... big bang and that, among them

EvilSteve

They re-did the bike for 08/09 & didn't fix the tank thing though. They claimed it was all new even though it looked the same... wait...  ???

Does big bang make sense for a 600 though?

gm2

is it accurate to say they re-did it?  iterative fixes/updates.  not like the '05-'06 transition.

big bang, why not?

I thought their marketing copy said it was a totally new bike but just kind of looked the same. ???

I thought (perhaps wrongly) that the point of big bang over screamer was traction. Traction on liter bikes due to power is much more of a problem and therefore the trade offs worth it, not sure if that's the case with 600s. They're using traction control in WSS now though apparently.

gm2

traction, yes, but also as-or-more importantly, mid-range.  it theoretically gives the I4 workable grunt and mid-range without sacrificing the top end power.  i can tell you first hand the R6 has no mid-range...
