no the lux grips don't get any smaller. they are the same diameter all the way. they are also a little bigger diameter than the stock grips.

i really think, since you do like these grips a lot, go ahead and get them! you'll wish you got them if you get something else. they are very comfortable to! its not like you'll be getting an awsome looking grip that feels like sh*t when you ride.

and about posing in front of a starbucks with my nice grips? what ever man. i guess i should take off my speedymoto sprocket cover to since it doesn't help with the function of my bike, right?

Over the many years that i've owned and ridden motorcycles i've tried many brands of after market grips and to my mind the rizoma sport grips are spot on in that they suit my hands (i like the inner thumb grove has i only have three fingers on my left hand) and if we're talking bling well you have to admit it they do look the "dog's".

Oh well that's my 2cents 

hey hey now, slow your roll. i was mentioning that if he wasn't dead set on the grips for their feel etc, but only thought they "prettied up" his bike, there's better ways to spend his money and see/feel the improvements. feel free to do whatever you'd like to your bike, bling sprocket cover or carbon fiber seat cowl, etc. Lord knows I've done it too.

I had the original Rizomas with the really soft rubber, they became deformed after one season so I put my Pro-Grip gels back on. 

But I've come across these recently, no first hand experience though...
but here's another less expensive route with color combos.

I've had the Sports for the last two seasons and love them.  The Lux are kind of growing on me though... DAMN YOU RIZOMA!!

I did have one problem with them at the end of last season that wasn't too big of a deal, but was a bit of a PITA.  The glue that held the inner sleeve of the throttle to the grip itself snapped after a bit of cold weather.  I'm sure its not particular to Rizoma, but deserves to be mentioned.  I ended up bonding them again with either JB or something else that I don't remember and they are strong as ever.  Rizoma stuff in general is pretty bulletproof.  I have the reverse retro mirrors as well and they have been down in a crash, as well as subjected to city knockovers on each side once or twice and are still hot looking and totally unscathed functionally.

Their stuff isn't cheap but it's worth it!

I recently installed the Sport grips on a S2R1K.  The throttle cable cam I had to use to match stock was the one labeled for a 2 cycle?  And the way the cam was shaped, in the full closed/off position it bound internally, I had to do some mods to get smooth action in the first couple of degrees of rotation.

I do like the indentation on the Sports, it fits my thumb perfectly and find it more comfortable than my other bikes that have "cushier" grips.

I was debating between these two myself when I got my bike.  Went with the sport and don't regret it one bit.  They look a bit cheap compared to the lux in the pictures, but i assure you when you see them first hand they are 100% quality.  I'm not sure what you'd have to do to wear em down...im sure they would eventually but ive been riding hard on them since last season, and through the sun and rain, they still look like they did the day i bought em.  The rubber is firm, btw, not soft.  It still maintains the solid feel of the stock ones, just with a slight increase in diameter.
