New but old track tires - should I buy them?

Thanks to all for the advice.  I have picked up a new set of both the BT003 slicks and Supercosa DOT to get me started.  At least I will be able to compare the different tire manufactures.  If the guy with the NOS tires ever gets back to me I may pick up a set if they are really cheap and use for track days.

Someone mentioned "how much?" My sentiment too.

If they seem decent and are pennies on the dollar, then by 'em run 'em. If they feel squirrely, ditch 'em and sell them to some squid stunter for what you go them for.

Of course, don't pay near retail when you can get something new and sticky - and more importantly something that you're confident about.

I paid 60 bucks for a Dragon Super Corsa front shipped to my door from ebay.. build date when it arrived showed it was 6 years old. I ran with it anyways.. it was from a dealer and brand new. I assumed it had been properly stored... it performed flawlessly...

I'd run em.  FYI deals are to be had on last years power races (prc, 5, 3) on ebay.  I just picked up a new set for less than 200 shipped off of ebay.  Fine deal imo [bacon]
