I just received my pair of Kushitani GPR 5's recently.  I started riding last season with a cheapo pair of synthetic Scorpion exos with the idea to do a big upgrade.  After a lot of looking around at the upper level gauntlets, i decided on these and I cannot stress enough how nice these things are.

Couple of things with these.  For one, the Scorpions I had were mediums, and fit me fine.  When I read up on the Kushi's I learned that they come small, so opted for a large.  Regardless, the first time i rode with them, they were uncomfortably tight, despite the size upgrade.  It had me a little worried, but I knew that leather gloves need breaking in, so I gave it some time and after about 2 weeks now they feel like they were custom made for my hands.

These things are incredibly comfortable, and take away very little dexterity once broken in, despite the thorough protection.  They are somewhat unique in that they have no hard armor on the glove part, meaning you have full flexibility of your writs and hand.  Personally I feel more uncomfortable without dexterity than without armor, so that is very welcome.

The kangaroo leather is thin enough that I can clearly feel the texture on my handlebars.  They also fasten with a wrist strap, and an overlap velcro lip on the bottom part of the glove, which is very adjustible and fits comfortably over my armored racing jacket.  I have no worries about these staying put if im ever in a crash.

While I can't personally vouch for the protection factor, Kushitani has an extensive enough track record that I don't feel like I need to doubt that. There is a ton of padding and abrasion material worked into the glove in a way that doesn't interfere at all with movement.  As far as i'm concerned, if the pros race with this stuff, that's good enough for me.

The gloves look great too.  Tons of great understated details in the stitching and patterning. At first glance you'll see what looks like shoddy stitching work on the fingers, until you take a closer look and realize that the gloves are stitched on the outside to prevent those annoying inner seams you get in a lot of gloves.

The one thing I wonder about is their temperature during the hot summer days, but i'll have to wait for some of those to come along before i can test that.

The downside?  Well, they're not cheap, about 235$.  If you ask me though, it's well spent.  You'd be hard pressed to find a glove that's this well constructed and comfortable while still giving you top of the time protection, and if your hands are your living like they are for me, i'd rather pay the insurance up front than the repair costs later.

Now you've done it.  You've opened up the Kushitani bottle and that Genie is out of the bottle.  Next you'll get a jacket then pants that zip to them.   You'll then start playing with their suit designer and begin scheming how to get a 2k purchase by the wife.

I have the GPRs as well and they are what I wear in the summer.  They are excellent gloves, they breath well and will hold up over time.  3 riding seasons now and I still don't have even a loose thread to pregnant dog about.

Where did you get them, and how is the sizing (what size did you get, and what sizes of other gloves do you wear/have you worn)?
'05 S4R (>47k mi); '04 Bandit 1200 (>92k mi; sold); '02 Bandit 1200 (>11k mi); '97 Bandit 1200 (2k mi); '13 FJR1300 (1k mi); IBA #28454 "45"

I got lucky and got mine from a member of TOB who ordered the wrong size.  Kneedraggers carried them then but no more.  Google just shows 2 shops www.motonekoparts.com and superbike toy store.

Sizing.  I wear Dainese most.   M or L in gloves (depending on the type of knuckle armor) and  a 52 Euro in jackets (size L for them).  In Kushitani that translates to an export LL in the gloves and an XL in the jackets.

You can also order direct from Kushitani.

they fit like alphinestar sp series gloves practically teh same finger lengths, though the thing is an astar medium equals approximately a kushitani medium but it will be really snug (a little tight)  for 1 month, the kushitani larges fit like a well broken in pair of astar sp gloves.

if you live in los angeles their main store is in marina del rey, though call ahead to see if they have what you want in stock basicaly if they dont' have it its not in this country yet.

Like I was saying, my previous set was a snug medium.  Upgraded to a Large for the GPRs and after break in they fit perfectly (they started out tight).  So err on the larger size if you're in between.

I got them from Superbike toystore.  Tried MotoNeko first but their customer service was terribad...after placing the order i heard nothing from them for a week and couldn't get through by phone or even leave a message because their mailbox was permanently full.  When I finally did get someone all they could tell me was that they didnt know how long before the next shipment because it was coming straight from kushitani.  Canceled my order on the spot and got it from STS in no time.   [thumbsup]  Theyre very helpful.

My camera charger is MIA at the moment but ill see if i can get some pics this weekend.  Cowboy, are those the GPR 4s?  Mine are just a little different looking than those.
