Ato Memphis (Josh) met me at SMU to start our trek to Edom this morning.  I got there ahead of Josh only to be waved over to a rider on a Buell.  After dismounting he tells me I'm the first to arrive for the ride to Crandall for breakfast at the Cotton Gin restaurant.  Turns out that is the every Saturday morning ride for another group that meets at this location.

His other riders failed to show (maybe they checked the weather channel this morning) so when Josh arrived the 3 of us rode together as far as Crandall then the Buell peeled off for grub.  We forged ahead on a zig zag route that I had googled.  We had to improvise when one of FMs was closed and had a forced detour.
About 20 miles from Edom we caught up with the rain that we had been seeing in the distance.  Not heavy, but enough to puddle and get us wet.  We arrived before the TWTEX crowd (Ducatis will do that) and quickly got under the restaurant porch to get out of the rain.  It rained all during lunch and pie feasting and then quit just as we were ready to look at bikes and meet the late arrivals.

Then came an invasion of SmartCars

Time to suit up and book'em back to Dallas.

I really enjoyed meeting Josh and riding with him.   I hope he had fun as well.

I'm looking forward to meeting other Ducatista in the future.

I had a blast and am looking forward to doing this again. I hope it does not rain for the next ride.

As soon as I arrived home, my wife greeted me with a box the postman had delivered. A small windshield for my upcoming long ride to Vegas. If only it had come Friday!

Also, the Smart Cars looked like a package of Skittles or M&M's had spilled out onto the roadway and were pouring into the parking lot. That was pretty fun to see.
