I did this mod a few months ago. A few people have asked about it so I figured I would post up some more detailed pics. The brackets are made out of aluminum (1/8" if I remember correctly). The bends were all made on a brake. Oberon turn signals complete the package. The taillight is led and is very bright.

So, it is a bit difficult to see the exact shape of the brackets, but they look to be somewhat of a couple of simple C brackets.

Did you have to install a resistor or anything for the LEDs?

Essentially it is a braket bent into a "C" shape with the addition of the side plates to hold the turn signales. I mocked the brackets up with cardboard and then pattern onto aluminum plate. It took a bit of fiddling but it wasn't too bad. No resistors were needed. The turnsignals have resistors in the board to obtain correct blink rates, while the tailight is just wired to the factory wires with a simple 3 wire pigtail.

I really like the oberons. They are plenty bright (8 LEDs) and send light forward and backward.  The craftsmanship is topnotch. I was also considering Rizomas but obtained the oberons at half the price so it was an easy decision.

I just completed this modification on my bike. It was a lot easier for me, as I already had an Atomic tail chop. I removed the vertical 'ears' the old tail light mounted to, and drilled two horizontal holes to mount the new light. I got the Motodynamics light, it is a really nice unit.
