This is good you put a lot of miles in 10 months  with two years Ducati warranty , so it can pushes out bad mechanic or engineering related.

I know, thanks. And at least they come with road side service for when they break down. :(

Call Modesto Ducati. They do awesome work, are awesome people, and most likely they'll tow your bike to their shop for free. They are the place I go for all my warranty work and whenever I need to order parts.
I can't say enough good things about them.

It may be a charging issue. Some 848's are having the same issue.
Does it happen more when you haven't ridden in a few days?

Not saying that should be normal! Just saying, if it's a charging issue, it would happen after the battery has been sitting.
Ducati seems to have contracted for a regulator that SUCKed - there was a recall as a matter of fact. I got a new one.

Some peeps found that if they put a larger battery in it, the problem went away.

Try the dealer/warranty first. Let them deal with it.

Actually Desmostro may be on to something. My stator had to be replaced be my engine just stopped charging the battery. I had really bizarre issues running the bike leading up to that because the battery was always so near to being dead. I would lose power and get random lights turning on/off, too.

I'm in shock and can't believe the news I just heard. Munroe's just looked at my bike and found that something catastophic did happen and the vertical cylinder has been damaged. They're pulling apart the engine right now and it's gonna be weeks before it's fixed   [bang] [bang]  I was supposed to go to a two-day novice school on may 25th-26th and now I won't get to without a bike. I'd been looking forward to it ALL YEAR LONG  [bang] [bang]

It's ridiculous to me that an engine that's less than a year old has to be rebuilt and I'm gonna try to either get a new bike or a refund. 8k and ten months old -- not acceptable.

I just talked to them and they said the exhaust valve seized. They said the valve and guide will have to be replaced. They don't know what caused it. wow, this blows.
