Sweeeet. Thought the 229s were .40SW? Are they making 229s in 9mm? I guess if you have one then they obviously are. [bang] Now you need a Streamlight M3 light for that tac rail. [thumbsup] Get a bunch of spare mags before a certain government bans them. :P Just saying...

I am a sig fan.  I have the P250 that I carry daily.  Fantastic pistols.

I am one of the few that will advise AGAINST a rail mounted lightfor several reasons, but that is just me.  First, you sweep everything and everyone with your gun when clearing a house.  Second, you are telling the badguy that your head is about 18 inches above the light.  I carry my flashlight out to the side for this very reason.  Shoot at the light and you MAY hit my arm.

Is there a reason you chose a DAO gun?

Consistent trigger pull, and a rather light one. I carried a Glock 22 when I was police. Loved the pistol, but like the double strike ability incase of a light primer strike. You don't always have time to chamber a new round.

Have you thought about an ECQC class?

I like the light SA pull.  I never mess with DA.  I get one in the chamber, leave the hammer up as my safety.  Pull the hammer back when im ready to fire and SA from then on.  Im sure your law enforcement experience has led you to some wise firearm decisions (especially concealed).

No clue what ECQC is.
