Against the advice of many here, I'm looking for a 3/4 height boot, narrowed my search to these.
I may not be able to see all in person maybe you can help.

AlpineStars S MX-2
Sidi Streetburner
Puma Flat V2

Only sen the MX-2 2 in person and the size a ticsh to big - 46 - suspect I need a 45.
Liked 'em.
Strictly a commuter boot, occasion errands / trips to town / occasional weekend rides, no
track.
Love to hear plus or minus of any of these.

I know it's not what you are looking for but a friend of mine just picked up a pair of Alpinestars Octane boots. He loves them so far and wears them as commuter boots. They look low profile enough to be worn with khaki pants and not stand out.

i wear these as well... they are pretty comfy and seem to have a decent amount of support and padding....

nothing like full moto boots though

Got the Sidi Streetburners, size 45, pretty true to size, think i'll fit an extra liner in them.
I don't have any shoes 10 1/2 or 44, so these don't run snug.
Pretty nice boot, top closure could be more secure feeling (velcro strp) not sure if that effects protection, the over arch system will sure keep boot on.
Bet a buck next version will have same closure on  top as over-arch
Seems like they'll breathe, I'll see how they'll do in the rain.
Man, the support under the shifer is so nice.

I don't think you will get many people frowning you you for buying boots. I personally think 3/4's are great. I have the S MX 2's and love them. They made a big difference in how I ride. More confident. They do give pretty good ankle support and for the most part, the only difference between 3/4 and full is that fulls protect you calf's. My SMX2's are great off the bike as well. They do not get hot. Only problem is that the rubber on the bottom will wear pretty quick. I would not suggest walking for miles in them. If you go for a quick stop, no problem. If you plan on walking in them all day, expect them to wear out quickly.
