Hi all, I'm Cam, I'm a real Newbie at motorcycling just a year and half riding  [moto], oh and cafe' for all too  [coffee] lol I love coffee so you won't get beer form me  [laugh]
From NJ, 32
Second season riding
My first and current soon to be sold 08 Ninja 250

I've been a lurker for a while admiring the beautiful pics of your Monsters, what an amazing looking bike this is, like no others. I've been a fan of the Monsters for a long time and last year finally got my license and decided to give motorcycling a real shot and sold my 50cc scooter, which was also fun too. I also waited to become more mature before I buy my first bike and now that I'm 32 I went ahead and looked into small bikes to start with, so last year the new ninja 250 was redesigned, the bike was nice looking, cheap enough to own and not to intimidating to start with, so I took the challenge and bought me one for a mere $3800 cash. I then learned to ride it on my own on the back streets of my town and it's been fun so far, but my dream was always that one day I would own a cool looking red Monster. I'm now looking into buying a red 696, I first saw it and sat on it at the NYC bike show and even though I think the fuel tank and seat crushes the "you know what" too much, I still liked the bike a lot. I really don't need a speed demon machine because if the 250 is fast enough for me, then the 696 might be too fast me then. I feel there's a certain sense of pride to own a ducati and they are not the everyday bike you see on the streets all the time always the same ordinary ones like Harleys and Sportsbikes.

Here I am at last years NYC show sitting on the 696 for the first time

Here's one for fun

And my currrent Ninja 250 will be up for sale this fall

Your attitude towards riding is good IMO. It has, and will, increase your chances out there [thumbsup]
In my country the chances of being seriously hurt/dead decreases by 90% from 20 years of age to 35. Probably smart to have waited a while.

The 696 is going to make you very happy [moto] By lurking here I guess you know about the expensive mod virus? Have a few $$$ ready for the habit.
- and get good gear. AND use it 8)

BTW your crushed ones might be happier with another Ducati seat ;)
252,000 km/seventeen years - loving it

+1 on the $$$ for the modding virus...it's inevitable.
Welcome.

Good luck getting the Duc! The 696 would be a great next bike, but those 250's are soooooooooo fun! Another good think about the 250 is you will not loose much money at all, they hold their value very good!
