This is a must-do ride in North Texas. So, air up the tyres, gas up the tank, and git yer butt over here cuz ....here's one ride you'll want to do over and over again. I know it's Father's Day and some of you will be with those whom you support financially. As for me, my wife is out of town so she gave me a Father's Day ride as my gift. For those who can make this it's well worth the drive even if you are from the S. Okla. sector.

The North Texas Hill Country Ride:

Sunday June 21st 9:00am (I know it's early but you'll thank me for that after it gets up 100). Meet up at The Waffle House, 8600 West Fwy, White Settlement, TX 76108 on I-30/West Freeway in west Fort Worth. This is one exit to the east of the intersection of I-20 and West Loop 820 in far west Fort Worth. This is a good launch site and from the parking lot it's a straight shot right onto I-30 westbound. This is a ride best split up in two parts. The ride starts at Brock Junction on I-20, go to Glen Rose for lunch, then back to I-20 in Weatherford. The ride itself takes about 4 hours but well worth the effort. Bring a tank bag if you have one with water cuz it's gonna be hotter-n-hell Sunday. There are frequent gas stops with lunch in Glen Rose.

Please be respectful to all riders on this ride because I have posted this ride on TWTex.com also and there may be some new riders with our regular group. The pace will be moderate with sections of sweepers as well as twisties. Please allow for stops at major juncitons to let others catch up. Please have your I. C. E. info on your person. All riders will be furnished a route map as well as my mobile number. I carry a Garmin GPS unit if needed.

Here's the link to My Google Maps for this ride. If you have problems opening it let me know. Post up if you're going.

In fairness to Lisa, I think she must have looked at Red's map before she answered, and rightly decided that this ride would require an extra day to recover from heat exhaustion. Either that, or she left the Subject Date Enumerator on in her forum profile settings.

Lisa is earning a living and I understand. It's also a good aliby. I bought it.

George I hope you get the time to ride on Sunday! That would be very cool. Although it's going to be hot.  ;D  [thumbsup]

Hoping to see some more riders as the weekend gets closer.

Damn  [bang] [bang] [bang], the next two Sundays are a no-go for me--family's coming over for the Father's Day BBQ at my house this Sunday, and the next Sunday is *someone's* 8th bd.

As of today it seems that there are several guys interested in going from the TWT site and a few I've met this week through various means for a total of a definate maybe 6 or 7 riding various BMW's/Gixxers/Blade/Ducs. All people whom I've never met before except the guys this week I met personally.

So, it's going to be a good time albeit a little warm in the afternoon. But hey, that's always a good excuse to stop and get a cold beverage.

Post up if you're thinking of going!

Thanks man. I appreciate that a lot. Didn't know you got this  [thumbsup]

Today was a very special day for me. The ride turned turned out to be just the three of us. Samsonite, Slag and I. It had been a while since I had been beaten about the body by trying to keep up with Samsonite and the first time I road BEHIND the SS900. Loud just doesn't quite give justice here. The roads were completly ours. There was basically no traffic at all to speak of except coming back into town.

As always I'm very thankful that everyone returned safely because there is always something that can go wrong...ie Murphy's. It was very hot but who cared. Three really nice Ducatis rumbling through the hills of North Texas, great riding weather, great friends, not to mention one hellofva La Flor Dominica Double Liegere (thanks my friend). Couldn't ask for much more.
