Ok...so I am still full of adrenaline (just happened)...bear with me.

Riding home from about a 40 mile round trip.  2 blocks from my street.  Quite residential street 35mph posted.  3 way intersection (turn on my right).  No stop signs.

3 cars bunched very very tightly, traveling toward me.  (I am under the speed limit maybe 30mph).  Last car decides he can make the turn in front of me. Speeds up and starts to execute the turn EXTREMELY early (4-5 car length before the corner) with no signals on.  He is trying to dive underneath me.  I swerve and miss him.  Lose the rear end, catch the left peg and I am over the top.   Bounce on my hands and elbows, roll on back and stand right up.

I seem fine...little blood on pinky.  Gloves and jacket do their job perfectly.  THANK YOU ALPINESTARS.

Cops come.  [leo]  No tickets but a report that should read it is his fault.  BTW...other driver...17 years old. [bang]  He disputes nothing about my discription of events to the police.  Although he did say he did not have a cell phone (he did produce one later) and he did try to flee the scene...but was easy enough to convince to stay. (I can be fairly intimidating)

This literally happened about 30 -40 minutes ago...sorry about the disjointed writing style.

I am going to take some Advil and drink some whiskey now.  Thanks.

Glad you came out of it alright, any broken bones or other serious injuries?  You are in for some serious soreness soon.

What is the insurance situation?  How did the bike fare?

What a way to spoil a nice short ride. Glad you seem to be pretty ok. If it hurt the bike I might have been inclined to kick him in the ass and ask him what the hell he was thinking.

Yeah, I am gonna be sore....feel it coming on already...and I am drunk now.

Bike.  Left peg gone.  Shifter bent (medium bad), rear turn signal gone, dash mounts broke (kinda broke already though), very minor rash on right exhaust mid-pipe, left exhaust very slightly out of alignment (not noticeable), bars and all controls all outta whack, rash on bar slider and hind sight mirror, new tank dent and paint chip...that seems like most of it.  Probably some rash on the fork but I haven't checked for it yet.

Shoulders starting to be sore.  Definite hot tub tonight.  Whiskey will be liberally applied also...maybe some left-over Vicodin too. [drink]

got the other guys insurance...hope police report reads well ...

Can't believe he tried to leave the scene....what's up with people???

shit man, i'm really glad you're ok.  with those other two cars in pursuit, it could have been much worse   :-[

as a recent victim of a hit-and-run i know how you feel, man.  i chased my offender's ass down and in the end got a freshened-up bumper for my efforts.  people are sickly little animals with no sense of duty.

Dude. post the other driver's name and i bet some folks can organize a "driving class" for him at home.

Just finished singing the kids to sleep...I suppose that is the good news. :)  Even with wrist soreness can still play guitar and sing  8)

THANKS EVERYONE for the well wishes!

I will keep you posted about how Geico treats me.

It was clearly his fault...other driver was 17...and tried to flee!

I am pretty drunk and about to get in the hot tub  [thumbsup]  (hoping not to drown)

Sorry to hear this..glad you are ok!  But.. how did you manage to NOT kick his ass right then and there? I've never been down.. but if I have a chance to get to talk to the guy who almost kills me.. I am pretty sure that I would lose it..

That will ruin a good day no matter who you are.

Glad you weren't seriously hurt.
