The sound of Ducati - A symphony of internal combustion

ptooey

Good to see more screen-time for Ducati, but here's my comment I added on that page:

QuoteOne of the conditions Ducati should impose on these film makers for inclusion in their films is that the genuine Ducati noise be used, not substituted with cheap-and-nasty Japanese bike noises for the sake of viewer-familiarity.

Interesting, I thought the sound was the only thing left from the Ducati...

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

You must be talking about Terminator 4.. Haven't seen it yet, but I guess I shoulda mentioned that Yes Man sounded like a Japcati, and also Dollhouse (TV show) with 848, also Japcati..

In some parts it did sound japanese, and others it was distinctly Duc.

<quack quack>

hmm.. I watched the latest terminator on Sunday (14/6) and never once thought it sounded like a twin, but maybe I don't remember right. I would have made reference to it though, coz I thought the bikes were wicked. - Chris

techno

I saw terminator salvation and thought it was sorta v-twin but electronically modified in some way, like slowed down or recorded through a 20ft pipe or something.

They never leave perfect alone!

assuming it's 5.56 (.223) that's about half a pound for every 20 rounds, not including the belt.  so to have any useful amount of ammo, you're gonna need at least an extra 10-15 lbs, plus the containers to store it.
