What happened to the idea of always being able to bring the bike back to stock?

S'pose it had just been too long between mods and you were looking for something (and there was not really that much left to do).

Now we have a photo of the redundant part, what about the rest?
Believe post content at your own risk.

one day not so long ago i've decided that this bike is definitely a "keeper" hence the decision. always liked the look but the thought of re-sale problems was stopping me.....not any more

Heh, 'tis a brave man that attacks HIS own bike with cutting tools!! ;D

Even though you might be capable of doing the cut yourself, getting someone else to do it and it doesnt quite hurt so much. [thumbsup]

And of course you can be supervising  [drink] [cheeky]

this is a macro-surgery - no drinks in an operating theatre.............after it's all over, it's a different story     [drink] or two

Doing it yourself is part of the fun in my view.
When I did mine it was an early Saturday morning like 5am.
And it was done and out riding by lunchtime.

I loved doing it, it was just the first time the saw hit the frame that was the hardest thing.

And re-sale well, it will sell when I'm ready but that is far in the distance right now.

ease for you to say; have you seen melvin @ work? sad sight, believe me

Super T.I.B

Well, I'm going to attack mine within the next couple of months. [evil]

A little project for the Dockstrada maintenance day. [thumbsup]

The Ventura rack is going 'cause i can't stand the look of it. [puke]

Back to backpack's for me. [thumbsup]

Spider

yeah, taking the hacksaw to the end was tough, I think I measured the 85mm about 4 times before the cut.

The mechanic thought I was insane when I rocked up with the number plate taped on....I couldn't drill the carbon for the plate or the indicators!

Waiting on those pictures Melvin! those will be great.

i actually haven't thought of taking pictures. the one with a sparks flying i took with my mobile

however, sydmonster, who is the master of ceremony and THE MAN performing the operation, had a presence of mind to have a camera ready and kept on taking pictures as he progressed. no dubt he will post them somewhere as well as i'll get a copy and put them on my flickr
you all well see the end result as than i will take a few pics myself as well

melvin

THAT reminds me   [bang]

if we all say "pretty please" to sydmonster he might finish the bike by tomorrow early evening so i can ride it to our first social meeting

so, sydmonster, what say you? is it doable, mate?    ;D

mattyvas

I'm sure it's do-able Melvin.

as I said today can't wait to see it.
We'll have to visit the wall the week after for some new photos.
