To follow local protocall & such I would like to allow myself to introduce...... myself  ;D
My name is Paul & I am in the north DFW (texas) area. Currently throttle twisting on a 500 Ninja (mid 90's model). I have made up my mind that I am finding a Monster for my birthday this November. I was raised on 2 wheels and raced the non-motorized versions for years all the way up to the semi-pro level for MTB, Road & Track. I don't have 40 hrs a week to train on 2 wheels anymore and then chase races around the country so now I am spending my time for love on 2 wheels with a motor between the legs. I work for Oakley and have always had a passion for Ducati (fav colors are red & black) & I have nearly every pair of Ducati signature Oakley's LOL. I have learned a good amount in the little time I have looked through here so far & hope to learn quite a bit more through the rest of the summer and beyond, especially once I have my baby to ride, love & adore. And of course mod  [cheeky]

Cheers & I look forward to meeting you north TX Monster riders!

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Good luck with the Duc shopping, do you have anything specific in mind?

The only specific I have in mind is a Ducati Monster  ;D from there it will be my accountant that directs the shopping a bit more, although I am not loving the 09' Monsters, checked them out at AMS in Dallas and much prefer the prior look & feel. I love the single side sing arm of the S2R & S4R but I think I am going to be getting one that is a little easier to tame for my first Ducati, & I know this will not be my last. Oh, and Ducati red will be a huge selling point  8)

Welcome. The DFW group is really active and seems to have lots of get-togethers. You should join 'em and check out a bunch of bikes all at once, get reccomendations, etc.
