does anyone know where I can find a short carbon fiber rear hugger
for my '98 M900 ???
I see several different full size rear fenders on ebay all the time but
no one advertises a cut down version

any help would be greatly appreciated

Dan.

I got this one from www.carbonworld.de

that is what I am looking for but that is only available for the later model Monsters
they have a different bolt pattern for mounting

and I tried cutting my stock plastic one and ended up making a mess of it so I don't think
a carbon fiber one would do any better

thanks

it's not too hard... and CF doesn't get all ugly/melty like plastic

I'm lookin' for exactly the same thing. How different are the bolt patterns of older and newer monsters? Would it be possible to make a simple adapter? And would the Carbonworld hugger clear the suspension hoop?

Cheers!

I'm looking for one of these too.

I've got the same hugger from carbon world.

It's very well made, but the bolt pattern is different to my 2000 model.
A but of cutting and drilling, and a couple of spacers along the swingarm solved the problem.
And yes it does clear the suspension hoop [thumbsup]

Ok, cool! That is good news! Do you happen to have any pica's of the mods and spacers?

Cheers!

This is the only pic I have at the moment.

You can see the difference on the leading edge. You will also have to cut, the "chain guard" part and maybe the other side too.
For spacers I have used 10mm thick rubber strips on top of the swing arms. the rubber looks a little dodgy at the moment, I'll make up something a little more "fashionable" later on.

OK, thanks! Those pics help a lot! If I recall correctly, on TOB there was someone who fabbed up an (I think it was) aluminium shorty rear guard (although some called it a shock guard, verrrrry shorty!). Anyone remember who it was, and/or have some pics of said item? Just to cover all the options ;)
