The date options are the 18th, 25th July,  1st, 8th or the 15th  August  post the dates that won't work for you. The subjects mentioned are Carbs assembly/disassembly, Balancing and maintenance, Valves and Belts Class,  Suspension and there is always the basic class we had before. These should work out in time wise. Post which of these you like or the subjects you want to see that are not up here for this time frame.

Stuff you should know:

The Class will be taught By Stuart Rust in Mansfield and will start at around 9:00am. It will last around 4hrs (it has in the past gone longer but I don’t think it has ever gone shorter) and will cost 50$. We need at least 5 people for a class to make. Your bike can be an example depending on the subject. For instance valves would take forever to disassemble and could be damaged by a classmate, but setting up suspension you need the rider and his bike.

Carb tuning requires a dyno, you can do it without but with no feed back you don’t really no what you are getting. That said a class including assembly/disassembly, Balancing and maintenance is a possibility and we have at least one bike with a Kiehin flat FCR carburetor.

Can't make this one but synching and jetting carbs went on for decades before dynos. Dynos kick ass for sure, whether carbed or fuel injected bikes. But the "butt dyno" on the street or track always seems to work pretty good. My 916SPS is a great example. Runs like stink on the dyno and the print out looks good but in real life it kinda sucks. Stumbles, backfires, barfs... I digress.

Maybe he'll teach you about plug chops and how to read a plug to get an idea of where to go with the jetting. ;D Did I ever mention that I met the guy who invented dirt? [laugh]

You guys enjoy this one... Stuart kicks butt. As if I need to say that.

I could do the 15th.

I'd be interested in suspenders for sure. I'd like to adjust my rear ride height as well (bike has adjuster).

I'd also dig learning about carbs but it isn't vital for me right now.

I could be wrong on this but I think that's his wife's pool and I am not sure He has permission to use it.

How do you guys feel about a valves and belts class on the 8th of August?

junior varsity

i'm in.

If we need to use my bike and yours to look at the difference between my CV Mikuni's and your flatside Keihin's, we can do that. You might want to ask Stewart about that - it would be neat to see them both side by side, tanks up, and the only difference right there is the carbs.

bullethead

I was thinking we could do Valves and Belts on the 8th, if that is good for everyone, and later on near the end of the month do Carbs or Suspension. I have no problem swapping things around, I was running with what I know I have the most interest in first.

I could do the 8th  [thumbsup]

I'd like to learn 2v or Testastretta heads, also, I'd like to 'calibrate' my belt tension meter with Stuarts, but I don't know if I can make the class. Put me down as a maybe.
