i have a '07 Monster s2r1k with 3.5K miles.  Should I schedule the 7.5K service before the warranty expires?  or just a regular check up to make sure all things are kosher?  Any advise would be appreciated.

i dont have my book in front of me, but aren't the services on mileage or time intervals anyway?

IIRC it's milage...

if service is cool, I don't see why they wouldn't give the bike a good once-over before your warranty is up.

well... wait... I never got my claim addressed for the tank paint.  [laugh] YMMV

So another new (to us) island rider then?  You do know that you are required by law to start attending some of the Sunday rides that we post up on here right?   ;D

sta

Ah, looks like i have broken the law and missed the ride this morning.  Guilty! So when does your sunday rides start?  Looks like it usually starts at Jumba juice on ward.  Well, maybe you can let our new b's know?

lol  No worries man.  Mac and I usually meet up every Sunday to go for a ride.  Sometimes other folks from on here meet up, sometimes they don't.  There are also a few Ducati SBK folks that come out with us as well.  We usually meet up at the Jamba Juice/Starbucks/Wahoo's there on Ward Ave, but the times vary each week.  Look in the "weekly sunday ride" thread and it will usually have the time listed for the upcoming ride.  There are also the monthly rides that take place on the second sunday of the month and meet up at South Seas.  The next one should be on the 9th.

Thanks for the info.  I've been to the monthly ride a few times, just haven't seen that many monsters out.  I will keep an eye out on the weekly rides thread and hopefully I can get up early enough for those. :)

For a long, long time any of the bigger Ducati rides had lots of Monsters and other models besides the Superbikes. On one or two occasions even bevel drive Ducati's showed up. About 6 months ago there was a definite shift to the Superbike attendance. However the 2nd Sunday ride is still pretty eclectic and for the most part a bit of a mellow ride. I must say though that if almost all Superbikes show up, and if the group happens to be on the small side with riders that know each other fairly well, there's a chance that the pace might not be "G" rated.  [evil]  We can always work it out so that almost nearly everyone has a good time. If someone is a stone cold newbie then they should let the group know ahead of time so that they can be looked after and be coached, if they're willing to be coached, that is.  [thumbsup] [moto]
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.
