Spies does it again, but the story in mind is Hopper and those BMWs.  Wow!  Hopper, after showing speed earlier in the weekend, doesn't even get to SP2.  And those BMWs--which have seriously struggled all year with qualifying--finally both get to SP3.  We've heard them say over and over again (or at least Xaus) that they have the pace to run up front but just need a good starting position.  Well, here you go, Xaus.

We'll see if Haga gets one of his rocket starts and gets through the field in a few laps.  But there's been not much indication he's on pace this weekend.

P.S.  4th place is nearly a second off the leader!?!   :o

Do the Supersports run the same tires as Superbikes?

I want to say that the Superbikes are on full slicks, while the Supersports are on grooved tires.

I liked Spies' comment in the Cycle News on line after action report. Something about Michel trying to apologize but Spies would have none of it... he was "not happy at the time". No s#@t! Talk about self restraint in an interview! I would love to have the post crash "discussion" on tape! [clap] Mama mia, I bet that Italian has never even heard some of those Texas cuss words before!!! [laugh] At least he tried to apologize, I'll give him credit for that... then I'll deduct 20 points for pulling off a dumbass maneuver.

Anyone expect any repercussions for Fabrizio for the next race? Any penalty (i.e., loss of grid position for being a 'tard?)
Respeta mi autoridad!

I'd doubt it.  To be fair to Michel, he had incredible drive out of the last corner and then coming into the corner where he wrecked Ben.  Ben braked a little earlier and then closed off the line late.  Michel really had nowhere to go but lean it more ( and lowside ) or probably stand it up and hit Ben anyway.  Its Fabrizio's fault, but I'd chalk it up to hard racing more than anything.  Stupid move considering what they both had to gain on the championship, but it did seem as if he had a way through when they both went into the corner.

Tough break for Ben, but at Michel apologised promptly.

Nice rides by Biaggi!  [bow_down]

Sucks that Fabrizio took them both out in race 1. He should have just tucked in behind Spies and waited until the end of the race to try for the pass.

Great ride by Spies in race 2 holding off Biaggi. He had a couple moments!  :o

Can't resist since you opened up the Days of Thunder can.  Xerox team orders:  Put the rookie into the wall.   ;D
