Can't resist since you opened up the Days of Thunder can.  Xerox team orders:  Put the rookie into the wall.   ;D

You really think that?

Occasionally AFM #702  My stuff:  The M1000SS, a mashed r6, Vino 125, the Blonde, some rugrats, yuppie cage, child molester van, bourbon.

Doubt anyone really thinks that was intentional, but perhaps stupid riding should get penalized too, not just the intentional stuff. Unsafe is unsafe.
I don't want to see the extreme of regulation that we see in F1, but damn, that was a moronic move by Fabrizio.
If Michel gets taken out in another race, I hope someone says to him,"Fabrizio, Don Spies sends his regards."
Respeta mi autoridad!

Like this is the racing, no?

I don't know if it was THAT stupid of a move. He had pulled alongside Spies, but Spies looked like he was squaring off the corner more than everyone else throughout the race...so Fabrizio ducked inside and then realized he was gonna run out of track or hit Spies, and tried to slow down a little tucking the front.

Agreed...it was a dumb move trying to force it in there, but if it had happened on the last lap we might be saying that's racing. Surely doesn't deserve a penalty.

...the "ben, i love you" sign was pretty cute.

How long did it take you to make it? [laugh]

Which is basically what the announcers were calling too. Just hard racing. Had Ben run a little wider they could have made it but things are happening very fast  and you only have so much time and so much room. I don't think it was exactly like the Pedrosa move where Danny was accelerating up from underneath and inside of Hayden. In this case the speeds were matched.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

This move right here was a lot worse, in stupidity terms, but he gets praised instead?

It's just racing man, shit happens.

do you recall the last corner of Valencia last year?  checa went for it, took out Neukirchner, lanzi was gifted the win.  shit like that happens... the bonehead factor in Brno was when it happened.

Now that I think about it, it's Spies fault! If he wasn't so damn fast Fabrizio could have put a clean pass on him!  [popcorn]

he also took full responsibility http://www.crash.net/world+superbikes/news/150384/1/fabrizio_my_fault_i_need_to_stay_calmer.html

I think I haven't learned to appreciate Fabrizio's sense of humor.  That sign made we wanna jam a breaker bar up his ass.

given the very apologetic look on his face and the inherent language problem, it seemed genuine to me
