I really don't want a louder exhaust at this point, but I may well go with some aftermarket slip ons and some kind of tune, in order to get the bike smoothed out...

On my 1100 I left the baffles in and the termis aren't really louder, just deeper

According to the powder coat guy here, it won't. He said, "i'm happy to do it for you but you won't like the results"
I have read that House of Kolor's hi-heat line works well, but it lack the insulating/rust proofing properties of ceramic coat.

ah... bummer

I think that's BS so that they can maximize their profit..."we've only got one so we can't really discount it"

bingo!

In that case I'll give it some thought...I really do need to smooth this bike out, it's frustrating and I usually obsess over this kind of thing...

Honestly mine was like a different bike after those mods. [moto]

I notice both you guys are online;
I'm sitting here on conference call with 3 people here, one on Oahu, one in San Francisco, one in NYC, one in LA, and three in Italy...and yet I'm still bored out of my mind!

So what are you guys doing?

Did they give you any kind of deal on the DP stuff?  I'm really not in the mood to spend as much money as they are asking for the slip ons/ecu/filter...although I've known Carl the parts manager casually since about 1975 and he says he'll give me a good price...probably 5% off after I pay shipping, or something like that... :(

I may just wait for something else from the aftermarket in the way of slip ons and an ecu and get a tune somewhere...of course that would wipe out the warranty...

Anyone have any experience with RevTek?

Good God, just one more example of why these guys are such complete ass monkeys!  Gene, they should give you 10% off the cost of the kit at a minimum considering you bought the bike from them.  If not, let me know and I will order it for you so you can get the military discount through me.  Either that or get it through Ducati Seattle.  They will most likely sell it to you for a cheaper price, pay LESS shipping (you would only pay for shipping from Seattle to Honolulu instead of SS trying to charge you shipping all the way from Italy) and I will almost guarantee you will get it here in less than half the time.

I was just speculating that it would be 5% off after shipping based on my experience with them over the years...I may pop in on them this week and get a price...

I was going to get mine from South Seas, since they agreed to allow the mechanic to fly over here to do the ECU + 600mi service. But they had a problem getting it.
I ended up getting them from Aldrin at Commonwealth Motorcycles http://www.store.commoto.com/ducati-store-c-15.html Significantly cheaper than South Seas' "discounted" price. Aldrin was great, even shipped them (himself) via priority mail which was a lot cheaper than UPS. If you buy anything from them, create an account on their site first. That gets you a discount.

No experience with Revtek, but l looked hard at the Zards http://www.zardamerica.com/
Commoto sells those also but they aren't on the site yet.

The SF screams for a two into one system and someone will make one for it soon. Wait, you'll see. If, for some reason, you don't get a Termi system with the modified ECU then don't bother with a Power Commander. Even though the new PC's are pretty good I'd say go for a Nemesis and have Ted up at RevTek set it up for you.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

I've seen a prototype Remus 2 into 1 and it looks pretty awesome, it looks as though Akrapovic has pair of slip ons ready to go also.

Can you tell me more about Nemesis, or give me a link to more info?

Thanks...a little pricey for me though, ecu, slipons, tune...I may just have to deal with the bike as is, hadn't planned on spending upwards of $3k to get it to run right... :(

Commoto has the termi slip-on for the Street Fighter w/ecu for $1721. You could install it yourself then just buzz down to South Seas and pay for an hour of Will's time to have him set everything with the DDS.

Still a lot but beats $3k.

I'll more than likely do something like that...and whine about it every step of the way... ;D

btw, did you ever call Hi-Tech?
