Hi folks,

Would anyone happen to know where I can get one of these please?
Seems Ducati have sold out and can't order more.

Buyer's of the 620 seem to want learner legal......

Many thanks in advance if you happn to know where I can get one.

Cheers,
Todd

You could try Silverwater spares or Eurobrit
Is your bike LAMS rego-ed

Todka

Hi,

Tried both, no luck there.

No to Lams rego'ed. Would have to have a blue slip issued I understand.....

Thanks,

Todka

BTW, it seems somwhow wrong, going to this effort to REDUCE power........
All my experience is in going the other way...

Very true, I went from a 620 to S4Rs.
In terms of value is the bike worth that much more to sell as a LAMS?
I know I sold mine for pretty good money after having it for 2 yrs.
But then it was always a LAMS bike.

Todka

Matty,

Nice pic of your bik BTW. Don't know if its the angle or the pipe, but it looks the business!

I dont know about universal appeal, one buyer is interested at a good price if it is LL, so checkng out what is involved.
Seems others have raided the restrictor cupboard already though.

Cheers,

Betty

Perhaps you can offer to break his wrist for free ... it should reduce his dexterity enough to have the desired effect. Haven't actually seen the thing in action (Matty knows all about it) but isn't it basically a screw to limit throttle action?

Yes a blue slip for de-powering a bike seems odd ... how do they know it is now LAMS appropriate?

It's a plate that is bolted onto one of the throttle bodies that restricts the movement of the throttle down to where you can only use about 1/4" turn throttle movement.

Mine was always LAMS registered, didn't tell the RTA, but I did "modify" the old restrictor where I couldn't use it again so I had to get another before I wanted to sell it as learner legal. And you will get more calls if it is learner legal, not necessarily people who will come out & have a look. It would be more beneficial to you if it is LAMS registered when you sell it. I wouldn't know too many people who have a full licence that would buy a 620.  :-\

It's my understanding that you can't register a 620 as LAMS once it's lost it's 'LAMS virginity'

Has to be LAMS from the very beginning.

bigfella

from what i understand it has to be LAMS registered from the begining
if the restrictor gets taken of its supposed to be reregistered as normal
but i had mine taken off by fraisers when i had the termis put on
and its rego papers have just come through for a second time with it still being LAMS gotta love those guys at fraisers
but i cant get the restrictor for when i sell but ill keep looking as im sure its worth even $500 more with the restrictor and it all counts for new bike and bling

Todka

I spoke to the sales and workshop teams, both thought all you needed was restrictor plus blue slip inspection to become learner legal.

They may be wrong, but that was their view.
Still, not having any luck finding one.

Ducati Penrith were very helpful. Ordered a new one from Italy.

Thanks T.I.B.

I'm interested to see if it can be reregistered as LAMS... are you in NSW? Please keep me updated! It'll help me get on a 620 faster (as I can't seem to find any LAMS ones around)

Also what's to stop you putting a throttle restrictor on another monster say a 695 and getting a blue slip done?

It's got to be on the LAMS listing & the 695 aint.  ;)

Hi there, sorry to bring back an old thread but I just recently purchased a 620IE Dark.

I am having the EXACT same problem but I think I've got it sussed out.

Im in QLD and found a form for LAMS Eligibility Application.

It basicly states that its gotta be no more than 660mL engine capacity and its gotta be no more than 150 kilowatts per tonne.

After doing the calculations, the only thing thats not getting the 620 under LAMS is because it has a 179 kilowatt per tonne rating.

on the bright side, this form allows you to prove the bike can be under 150 kilowatts per tonne.

All you have to do is to put a restrictor on it, have a certified Weighbridge certificate or a Dynamometer report to prove it.

So once the power to weight  ratio is fixe below 150 along with the certified documents the bike should be LAMS approved!

Now I just have a question, once you install a restrictor can you still take it off?
