Yessir, seems that way indeed.

Tantalus is not really this old guy's bag, but I loved all the other curvy roads...;D

I used to not care for tantalus at all, but the more I ride it the more I like it. Just got to get the feel for the road and learn it's curves. It is quite tight, but it's the only road here tha reminds me of Germany.

Tantalus may favor some bikes over others. I don't know how my old Monster would work up there now that the road is redone but a year or two ago when the road was really bad the bike hated it. Never did take the 999 up there. The 750 Gixxer wasn't half bad but the 848 loves it. Who knows? I know a certain 1198 that takes a bit of work to make it go. I suppose I could get a ride on the 1198 to compare it to the 848 but I can guess pretty accurately that good throttle/clutch control on the bigger bikes takes a lot of work & practice. I think I'll worm a ride on a Hypermotard and see how that goes. I'm not gonna hold my breath in anticipation though.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Good fun to ride with some new folks, and some not so new folks!

great ride y'all, that was the stress reliever I needed. Now it's back to the "fun" at work.
Did I ever tell you the story about the Zen master and the little boy?

Took a rock or something hard to the sump cover while riding the SF this afternoon...

Was doing about 65-70 on H1 and I heard/felt a loud THUNK!...got home and found that one of the four allen head bolts holding the sump screen cover on had been sheared off, along with the corner of the cover and I’ve got a small leak…I’m thinking some JB Weld should take care of it until I can get a new cover and bolts…gonna check the dealer tomorrow…

Freaky thing, just glad it didn’t punch a hole in the sump cover, oil on the back tire at 65+ wouldn’t have been pretty… :o

I drooled on that SR-15 again today.

Been on the Seven bicycle now two nights in a row after work. From shop down to Diamond Head, twice around DH and back to shop. That's a feeling I haven't had in a long time.

Think we are going to take our bikes out on Saturday after I get home from work.  If you don't mind me asking, what sort of speed were you carrying?

MadDuck

The OBC battery died the other day so for the last couple of rides I've been winging it.  I reckon between 15 & 16 mph avg. I'm not fast. Not that I ever was either.
