Check out the Yamaha promo video of Spies. It's funny as sh#t! I love the last scene with Rossi! [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

Another video of Spies but this one is a serious interview with Jonathan Green after the Nurburgring races. Spies has made a lot of head way in interviews since joining WSBK. His old AMA race interviews were always short and shy. He has become very well spoken and carries himself like the pro he is. [thumbsup] It's going to be another classic fight to the end in this year's WSBK series. Can't wait to see it! [clap]

OK, is it just me or do I see the end of Hopper's career just around the corner?

Good question. He did have one of the longest racing careers of any rider in the big boy GP class, he had that going for him at least. I think you would have to use carbon dating to discover his last podium though. :P Nice enough guy just not very productive. Amazing he kept factory rides as long as he did.

Wasn't Hopkin's early MotoGP career chronicled in "Faster"?   The Anglo-American...  ???

Yes some thought he wpuld be the new Kevin Shwartz... too bad the only thing he successed was his crashes and injuries... He should be pretty good in AMA ... [cheeky]

I was sort of hoping he'd catch a second wind in WSBK. He's no Spies, Haga or Biaggi but it would have been nice to see him be competitive, maybe podium some races. Instead all he did was fall off and get hurt, then get hurt some more. :P Hate to see that happen to anyone, even Pedro-bot. [moto]

Interesting article about Rossi and some things to think about. What would MotoGP be without Rossi? I suppose some day we will find out. I've said it before, sure there will be other great riders in years to come but will any one of them "out Rossi" Rossi? Personally, I doubt it. Thank God I live in a time when I can say later in life "Yeah, I watched him race for years. It was awesome!" [clap] [wine] [moto]

These are some things I think about in sport. Is Tiger actually worth that much money or is the sport of golf in need of that sort of superstar in order to attract wealthy buyers to purchase it's products? Is it justified to pay a bloke $30,000/Euros for taking his life in his own hands and racing the TT and the same time pay a Milandri-type rider more each year to ride? Should MotoGP advertise more in order to attract more wealthy buyers? Should the motorcycling industry as a whole come together and compete against the likes of (deep breath) NASCAR  [puke] ? Why not have moto racing of all types more standardized and commercialized like the aforementioned so people can become more involved in the sport? Maybe make Moto racing a multi-race event at many more venues here in the U. S.!

Let's face it our passion is second to the cagers. We need more exposure to the general public here in the U. S. If money gets behind moto racing then motos will become popular again and Rossi and Woods will be in commercials together like Federererererer is. Why aren't the parrallels to F1 and MotoGP brought out more? Hello!, Make Rossi a board member of the FIM! That way you might just faret out some of the hoity toity flim flam that has become F1. Am I off base here folks? If so just tell me to shut up and get off my podium. he he...Like Jimmy Buffet says at the start of "Fruitcakes"..." We need more Fruitcakes in this world and less bakers! We need people who care! I'm mad as hell and I don't wanna take it anymore!"

AMA Grand National Championship used to be a multi-race, multi venue competition in the good old days. I loved it back then. You had short track, half mile and mile flat track, TT and road racing. You had to run them all and score points in them all to compete for the #1 plate. It was awesome but time and expenses passed that form of competition up. Things became very specialized. The first 1976 AMA Superbike championship began that process and the slow collapse of the old GNC #1 plate competition. It was really cool in it's day. Produced some amazing racers for sure. Can you say Kenny Roberts, Sr? I knew you could. [laugh] [thumbsup]

I'm no genius but even I could see something like this coming.

With the possibilty of Toseland and others heading to WSBK the 2010 season might even be better that this one! How awesome is that?? [clap] [beer] [thumbsup]
