nate firewalking

and the challenge shot

the story goes like this...
dp was the first to firewalk, knight also walked it, wearing shorts. nakid walked it, but was not wearing shorts, making knight the winner. when this was brought to nakid's attention, he quickly pointed out that dp wasn't wearing shorts either. so the challenge was to walk it in your underwear.

i walked it too but there aren't any pictures of it  ;)
we also did a conga dance through the fire but there aren't pics of that either... that i know of.
The reason for the underwear walk was that Knight wanted to put some incendiary device in the fire to scorch Chris' legs as he walked through. Doing it with him was the only way I could get him to do it again.

The incendiary device failed. [laugh]

I was in a half daze all day, however I did find myself randomly exclaiming, "We burned a frigging boat" often receiving odd looks when I did. Not that odd looks are out of the ordinary.

Burning the boat was a memorable experience.

I have a brush pile I need to get rid of.  I'm walking around the house looking for stuff we really don't need or that the kids and wife wouldn't miss.  No luck so far.

Finally I have a minute to post up about the weekend.

I packed up the 950SMR and was on the road by 8am Friday.  I made it to DIMBY at 10:15 Friday night.

I saw no sunlight at all on Friday.  In fact, I got rained on so much I was sure I was being punished for something by a higher power.  I didn't see a dry road or face shield from 12noon till when I got there.  10 hrs of driving rain.   :o :o  :P :P

It was worth it.

We burned a freakin' boat. ;D

I drank too much Friday night and went to bed at 4am.

Back up at 8 the next day with a wicked desire for water.

GPS stats for the trip up, saturday's ride and the trip home (excuse the iphone pics)---

It was great to see some familiar faces again :)  And also great to meet new ones-

Got Duc
Naked
Knight
XJDave
Hooligan Machinist
MrIncredible
(sorry if im forgetting anyone  :-[ )

Im guessing I got the long distance rider award, but I'm third as far as physical distance from home behind MrI from the left coast and Hooligan Machinist from a ways south.

Actually, HM and I added up what he spent to fly up, hitch a ride with Nakid and camp and I was  :o :o  I won't say what it was, but everyone should be  [bow_down] ing down to him for the effort.

MrInc too.  I don't envy the sleep schedule he was on after flying in from around the world, renting a car so he could drive to rent a bike so he could ride to DIMBY.

Another example of awesomeness.

Naked and the wife- I looked for you guys to say good bye before we rolled out but we missed each other.  Haley is so cute it makes me want to explode and I don't really like kids.  How you managed to father her, I'll never know.

Also, your knee is sicker than 2G1C  [puke]

The ride home on Sunday was way better than the ride up.  I had lethe and Knight in tow and we worked our way over to Rt 30 in NY and tore it up.  Amazing road, and even in the rain we really didn't slow down that much.

When I asked how the pace was (earlier in the day) Knight said it best, "Great! Except for the rape my ass in prison level of speeding ticket we should be getting."   [laugh] [laugh]

As promised, here's a couple moose humping pics-

Outside the brewery we stopped at for lunch, where the moose were.

I had to snap a couple of lethe's bike when we had our final gas stop as a group.  It really looks like, instead of a garage, he stores it in a pit in the ground that he just pushes dirt into to keep the sun off it [laugh]

I learned a few things this weekend myself-

-Rain sucks.

-A brand new pilot road 2 can't go 1400 miles and not get a flat spot :(

-A brand new pilot road 2 can keep you stuck to the ground, in the rain, when you should probably have you knee down.  The tread even starts to rip a little the way track tires do ;D  In 65* weather ;D ;D

-Knight's beard has special powers that attract dead porcupines to him and his bike

-Anyone that things a 620 is slow and not enough bike needs to ride with lethe.  He'll probably scare you.

-Bucket of margarita mix repels 'Tini the same way holy water and garlic do with Dracula.  It's like Kryptonite to her

-Diva likes Gin

-Nates liver has a time clock and will punch out/go on strike when it deems necessary [laugh]

-Boats burn good.

-After Naked's accident he needed knee replacement surgery.  Gumby was his doner.

-Apparently if I hung off just a little more on the I-91 on ramp I could plant a knee [laugh]

-I have friends from all over the place and that's awesome  [thumbsup] [moto] [bacon]

Thanks to you all for showing up and doing what you do.

That night was not my livers' first time around the block.

It has experience.  ;)

Interesting and weird are two distinctly different things.
I think he's a cool little dude and it's fun to watch what things catch his attention.
