The jazzfest ran from the weekrnd of April 26th to May 4.  I only got to see Santana on May 4.  I rode down on a Saturday and went home on Monday.  I have the long version written up somewhere but the short version is, it was a 1K ride total, with slab riding, speeding ticket, bug attack, rain and getting lost with unplanned side trips on nice secondary roads trying to get back to the interstate.  I was delayed 2 hours by the rain and scenic routes on the way back home.  Almost made it to Houston .

Santana was the lead up to the Neville brothers who traditionally close the whole thing.  The stage was on an open field which was part of the horse race track.  The field was damp and stunk.  Santana played the oldies and some new ones.  The music was great but the politiking was lousy.  I did not pay good money to listen to it.  Why can't they just shut up and sing? 

The food in NOLA is always a treat.  Sorry you weren't able to make it especially if you like the rain .
