it's looking like the philly MLS team (yes, soccer) will play their first game at qwest field.

anyone have any suggestions for hotels nearby? it looks like the filed is right in the downtown area so we are aiming to stay there. also, a good bar or 4 would be nice to know about.

kathy won't let me go without taking her and she also wants to see a show out there. so my next question is for the metalheads. where should we go? smaller venues are preferred. also thanks to her unnatural love of pearl jam, anywhere good to go see that involves them ro their history? she'll prob have an agenda all planned out, but i figured i'd ask anyways.  ;D

My loves the Hotel 1000... its a tad swanky though.

Silver Cloud has a hotel between Safeco Field and Quest Field.  Park and walk.  Or take the train.

Purple, a wine bar is awesome, unless you don't like wine.  Lots of spots around the stadiums.
Had 2001 Monster 750 Dark, last of the carbby's.
Has 2011 Multistrada 1200 ST

... for the metalheads. where should we go?  ...

While not live music, the Whiskey Bar across the street from the Moore Theater serves up stiff drinks and DJ'ed metal (yes, not a typo). Speaking of which, the Moore is where Even Flow was filmed and Eddie stage-dived from the balcony. For a complete history tour however, most of the key places from the heyday have met the ever-so-unfriendly blades of the bulldozer.  >:(

Have a great time!  [thumbsup]

that phrase scares me. tell me it's not metal overlayed with thumping dance beats.

does this Moore theater do shows? (yes i'm asking this before i search for it)

Ah ... should have been clearer!  [bang] Think DJ of a nightclub but with a scruffy biker guy behind the turntable playing nothing but metal. Certainly a unique interpretation of "DJ" as "Dancing" and "The Whiskey" do not go together here.  [thumbsup]  Note however the time I always visited was weekends, so I'm not entirely sure of this DJ on weekdays.

The Moore is a venue for the occasional live shows for bands as they tour. It's not a live-music-every-night type of bar.

so it's more of a guy standing there playing cds..that's cool

seems like a touchtunes would work well too.

either way, if it's dirty and gritty we'll like it.
our favorite bar in philly smelled like sweat and blood the first time i ever went there. now i don't even smell it anymore.  :)

I'm sorry.....Sons of where the F*** you Ben? [beer]

now to answer your questions re:   [drink]

Fuel - HQ of Emerald City Supporters (friendly hooligans)
McCoy's Firehouse - second official supporters club bar (more friendly hooligans)
stop by www.weareecs.com or ticket info/contacts/links/more bars.

Rumor is a whole delegation from the Union's supporter club is coming. We're pretty friendly with away fans, just some banter. Though if any of Ben's boys wanted to start serious shit they probably shouldn't be anywhere near Pioneer Square on match day  [evil]

PS thanks for stealing Letoux  [bang]

there isn't anyone with a green street fantasy in our group. if they do then they are not welcome.
those people have started their own groups that are borderline anti-SoB more than they are pro-union.

we'll trade taunts, and do what we can to drown you out (not likely at an away game i know) but we won't start anything physical.

thanks for the info. i'm glad you guys invented fandom for us. otherwise we wouldn't know what to do at games.  ;)

Almost forgot.....

George & Dragon is a good place. Also Doyles Public House in Tacoma or O'Blarneys Irish in Olympia.

Most fans around here are just into good times, talking shit, drinkin' beers, etc. The hooligan wanna-be types don't last long.

Getting my season tickets today...

A) i wanted to bring up a long dead thread

B) i'll prob see you in oct for the union away game. only this time i know timber's fans and they have volunteered to come with us.  [laugh]
