You know, the printing of that gentleman and sleeping horse on that helmet could have very well weakened the helmet's shell making it almost certain that your brain will be damaged if you ever crash.  ;D

How about this one?  :D

Redial - did you get one? If not, did all the warnings/opinions play a part? If they did, maybe voicing opinions about safety is a good thing after all......   Even if we sound like someone's mother [roll]

........

Look at motorcycle police.  They wear 3/4 helmets.
...............

We wouldn't want to be like them, would we?  ;)

actually i said in a previous post that it cooled down and im waiting until next june/july to pick up a cromwell (or nexx if im broke)

again, thanks for the concern but i dont need to be reminded that riding a motorcycle is dangerous.

from post 1.
Quotei know i will get a lot of "3/4s are for squids, for locating the head" etc comments, which is fair i suppose.
Quotecompletely agree with you. and i know that it is immature to know better and still do foolish things,

id rather have the option of a 3/4s over being tempted to ride with sunglasses for that one block, on that one 95f summer day
i have 3 full face helmets, this would be a handful of short rides of the year helmet. again i agree with you completely, and i know it only takes 1 fall, but .....
Quote
the point is that riding a motorcycle is inherently dangerous and we all have to decide how much risk we can mitigate, and how much we are willing to accept. I said that a 3/4 would be a 1% of the year helmet
Quotei said that i expected flaming, and after a few posts i addressed it and gave the nod.

also as i hinted, if i get above 25mph, if im going to initiate ANY lean angle, if im going through even one intersection, i always always always wear one of my several full face helmets (another coming next week most likely)

id LOVE to tell you guys ive never ridden without a helmet but ......id be lying
yea i SAID IT. did that just blow your minds?
now make me feel like i deserve my motorcycle less for the next 3 pages please

You don't deserve your motorcycle.  You can drop it off at my house on Saturday between 10 and 3.  thanks.  [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

I used to say i was full face all the time only, but after quite a few 90+ humid summer days, im ready to change my tune. I want a 3/4 helmet for just those hot sticky days, the rides down the block to a friends, on the unimart. looking for a sophistocated, classy helmet here. these are relatively inexpensive, so buying top shelf is less....painful than with fullface

any highways or main roads and ill grab the full face no problem, but when you are going slow that summer heat is a killer!

So i was wondering if there are any really sexy 3/4 helmets that i should check out? i did read up on webbikeworld.com and i also searched the forum and didnt come up with much. so hopefully this isnt a derby.
i know i will get a lot of "3/4s are for squids, for locating the head" etc comments, which is fair i suppose.

ill start by listing some nice ones ive seen.

the nolan. i listed this bc the helmet doesnt look too bad if it werent for the hockey face mask. i prefer the eye shields only (yes only for aesthetical reasons)

the nexx x60. this is a high contender. these helmets are well made i can say from experience (i have the x30)
and come in many nice styles. generally, class is the name of the game here

ICE
others

this helmet is sexy indeed

momo makes a lot of semi helmets, this is one of my favorites, but they all have a similar effect. im not a fan of full carbon lids, but this has just enough other things going on to not make it look overdone. the carbon also looks high quality, which is such a must bc cheap carbon looks like steaming turd.

the dainese jetstream. mixed feelings about this one because there is no denying that it looks modern, different, eye catching.... but in its strive to be modern it abandons the classic look that momo pulls off quite nicely.
i hate the shield

and yes i saved my favorite for last. im not sure if these are to be had in the US. and remember when i said these were less painful than buying fullfaces? forget that. this thing is a wallet burning meteor but its love at first sight. there is a ducati badged spitfire on ebay right now for over $600 usd

damn, nice interior (picture broke, check webbikeworld.com) . looks like it should come with a maserati roadster

looks even better in white but both colors have that gorgeous flake paint

the cromwell spitfire, aka masterpeice!

one more so you can see the look with a tinted shield

so any other 3/4 helmets that you guys love for those short trips down the block?
i remember a famous person in a 3/4 helmet being chased by papparazi getting on a wicked paul smart replica. the helmet he was wearing was awesome, but i cant for the life of me remember what it was. possibly a momo painted to match the PS

I wear the Dainese Jet Stream, flows a lot of air and it's extremely comfortable. Cannot get used to full face helmets so this is the best solution for me.

My vote goes to the Momo and Suomy helmets. As for the rest of this i think i am going to go out and buy a party lid to satisfy the law and do a naked (boxers... hmm maybe briefs not sure..) ride to protest the opression of the notatgatt. Don't wory though i wont post any pics. : )

Ok, we get your point.

I'd rather be hot than than loose my face in an accident. After my full faced helmet took 90% of an impact at 35mph in the city that saved my life/face, I understood why full faced helmets are the only way to go.

Sexiest 3/4 helmet you ask? What's the sexiest 3/4 face that you've ever seen?

To each thier own, but I can tell you from first hand expierence that it only takes one time to know how much of a safty risk a 3/4 or less helmet really is.

Agreed. To each thier own, but it only takes one time, one accident, one careless driver in a car, to teach the lesson on why full face helmets are so insisted upon on this forum. Really, no one will bash anyone for what they really prefer (....well maybe a little), but it's just out of the lessons that many of us have learned and not wanting to see anyone be injured so badly that we all insist on them so strongly. There's certainly a certain amount of assumed risk that we all take in everything that we do - the road that you choose may not be the same as others, but it is your road.

Ride safe no matter what you wear and always love what you do.  [thumbsup]

First of all - I've been there and know exactly what it's like jackass.

Secondly, I'd hold off on calling someone and idiot when what happened wasn't even his fault.

Really?  ^^^

I was just stating my opinion. FWIW.

I didn't say anything derogatory or personally directed at anyone. You might want to check that.
