I just saw chrome and leather pieces fly all over ahead of me two lanes to the left and 20 ft ahead.  My view was obstructed but the cars gave way and I saw an old man tumbling on the pavement at about 35MPH.  Eastbound !-40 just before Carlisle.

Traffic was stopped at all lanes which I thought was pretty courteous considering how people can be azzholes behind the wheel.  Snapped some pics while we were stopped though didn't feel the need to get out and surround the guy looking concerned like 20 others were doing.

Hope he'll be alright.  Wear your helmet folks.  :cheers

Here's some iPhone love.

Oh my God!  Poor guy!  I hope he's okay, too.   Wow.... scarey stuff ....  glad he was sitting up.  I hope the forehead and arm were the only injuries.

Ouch...that looks painful.
Have done this twice myself but always wore the gear...what a difference in outcome.
Any idea how it happened.

Ouch!  Was the guy even wearing a helmet?  Hopefully it just looks worse than it is.

How do you crash going down an arrow straight road?  Flat tire maybe?  Braked too hard to avoid rear-ending somebody and locked a ( rear  [roll] ) wheel?  Hit construction debris?  Who knows.  Hope the dude is OK.

The Sausage Creature sings again, a few Harley riders have given Me flak about wearing these " funny looking clothes" , I'd rather look funny to them than look like that dude...Hope He recovers OK.   Hate to see a wreck no matter what a person rides.   Good wake-up call Electron, keep people thinking..

+1 on the gear for sure. It really does look painful. Was this on the news?  Does anyone know how he went down or how he is doing?

Judging by the head gash, I would guess(cuz im smart that way) that it was a big ole negative on the helmet.

hope he was ok.  sad to see.

um, electron, arent you an emt?
If you love your bike, set it free.
If it comes back to you, you've
probably high-sided.

Nah, but if I was I'd have gotten out and done some procedural stuff and what-not.   [beer]

fwiw The dude was cussing up a storm and seemed more pissed than hurt..  Lesson learned.   [wine]

Could that have just been due to adrenaline?  [roll]

For both questions, once again I'm no EMT.   [beer]

I know, it just sounded like something I would say: "procedural stuff and what-not", since I am, obviously, not an EMT either.  [beer]

As for the second question, I just wondered because I have seen people who are seriously injured get up and do things they shouldn't and make it worse only due to adrenaline right after a crash.   :-\

Was good to see you again in Ouray and knowing that you are doing well.
Is the bike fubr or can it be fixed?
