If you are on facebook or have a few minutes to create an account, it is time. Time for what you ask? Time to join the facebook group aimed at organizing rides, tech days and other moto events (coffee crawls, garage crawls, motorace watching, overnight moto trips, etc. We will probably still post most stuff up here but many people are not on the DMF, so the facebook group is a way to organize across the broad spectrum of Ducati folks in the Valley.

The group is labeled Phoenix Desmo Non-club beta for now, as we haven't been able to narrow it down to what will no doubt be one of the most ground breaking names ever.  [moto]

This is a group and not a club so there are no "meetings" or any other clubby stuff. Just join and keep an eye out for rides and events or organize one yourself.

Cheers

Phoenix Desmo Non-club beta

What a cool name.

It's like the early release of proprietary software. Soon we'll be called Phoenix Desmo Non-club 1.0, and then 2.0, and then the controversial Phoenix Desmo Non-club Vista that many people won't like and we'll be forced to change quickly to Phoenix Desmo Non-club 7.

Or will you switch to Jaguar, Snow Leopard, or some other big wild cat named OS??

So when this thread first got posted, I went and to Facebook and asked to join that group.

So far no reply.  ???

Whatcha talkin' bout Michael....you've been on there since day one.  I didn't get a reply either.  Since it's a non-club, there are almost no rules, and anyone is encouraged to sign up just for the hell of it, and to see if you can get past our extensive screening procedures.  [thumbsup]

I'm Facebook-challanged.  :'(

Yes, so ... as it turns out ... I've been a member this whole time.

Me too.

In general, I'm against it.  How do I join a group anyway?  Is there a link?  Can you guys just send me an email when you ride like usual?

Michael

It's very easy, just go to the very top of Facebook and in the search box put "Phoenix Desmo Non-club beta"

Click on Phoenix Desmo Non-club beta

And then when you're on the Phoenix Desmo Non-club beta page, just click on the "Join" link.

And that's it. I thought I'd get an approval email, but you'll be automatically added.

Honestly, sending out emails every time is kind of a pain.  I have a few friends who aren't on any of the forums, and its a pain to try and remember everyone all the time.

One thing I'm noticing about the FB group is I'm not sure I'm getting update notices when things are posted.  For instance, if someone make an event, and I RSVP, it would be nice to get update notices to email/cell phone if things change or people post up more info.  Maybe it's already doing this and I haven't been paying enough attention?

It can, but depends on how and what you use it for.
There nothing wrong with the application, just the stupid Twitter people on it.
